This is something that might only bother me, but I'm keen to see what others think. Personally, it actually manages to put me in a bad mood when I see it.
Why, last night, did Noam Dar - billed as representing Scotland - have the Saltire on the screen as he made his entrance, but Sabre Jr - billed as representing England - had the Union Flag?
They're both British. One is English, the other is Scottish. They're both British, they're both from the UK. One got his national flag, and the other didn't.
Most of you will probably think I'm being fussy, but I think it's really disrespectful, not only to the wrestler (ZSJr), but to the fans he represents.
Will someone please explain this to me? It really pisses me off.

Because he's representing Scotland, so they put the national flag of Scotland up...

Because he's representing Scotland, so they put the national flag of Scotland up... But they didnt put the English flag up for ZSJ, they used the union jack which represents England, Ireland, Wales and Scotland. They're both British, so both should have had the union jack. Or Dar have the Scotish flag and ZSJ the English flag.

Because the company is run by a bunch of Americans who probably don't know the difference to be honest. A ton of Americans think the Union Jack is just for England.

Scotland is blue with a white Cross. People outside of the UK mistake yhe union jack (the red white and blue flag) as the English glad but it isn't that flag represents the 4 countries that make up the United Kingdom.

Should try being english and filling out an online form then! Not sure whether to look for United Kingdom, England or Great Britain. It's mostly United Kingdom but the odd one is different.
But on topic, I don't get it either. I guess when a lot of people think of the UK, they mean England more specifically.
People from Scotland always want to distinguish themselves from England anyway, so that's why they use their actual flag.

Sabre is literally covered in the Union Jack.
Don't ya think it would look a bit odd if they used the English flag....

WWE have always used the Union Jack for stuff English related. Sabre also makes perfect sense to use the Union Jack. Although I can see where you are coming from. Being from Scotland I'm looking forward to seeing if they have the Union Jacks on the side of the stage like they do when Raw in London.

My brother-in-law is a Scottish nationalist and he won't have a union flag or anything bearing it in the house. On the one hand, it's totally understandable, on the other it's pathetic.

It could also be that that was what Sabre and Dar wanted...

Sabre does have white tights with the red cross too, just hasn't worn them in the CWC.

I mean, if we want to get really technical Lince Dorado could have used the U.S. flag because Puerto Rico is U.S. territory.

But Lince Dorado was billed as representing Puerto Rico and had the Puerto Rican flag. ZSJr and Frank Gallagher were billed as representing England and didn't have English flags. I suppose it's pointless talking about it now that it's over, but it wound me right up.

So the meaning of this threads existance is down to ZSJ using the Union Flag instead of the St George's Cross, while Noam uses a Scottish flag?
