I don't mind him being gone at all. He never entertained me. was against his rehire just for the fact he did nothing for me. People always said he had great indy work and matches but i never checked them out.

Excellent. This run was worse than the last. They should never have split him from Ricardo or from the rich mexican aristocrat.

So, did we ever find out what he tested positive for? I bet he didn't mention it at his press conference, but shouldn't a real journalist have asked him?
Unless it was just Adderall again, that would be boring.

It feels like just yesterday that he returned to WWE, the last year absolutely flew by. While I was surprised and rather excited when he returned at Hell In A Cell, the novelty of it wore off rather quickly and by the time he was thrown in that awful League Of Nations stable, I was over it.
I've always thought he was very good in the ring, but rather bland in the personality department. As a heel, his promos were boring and repetitive. But I actually thought he made a pretty good babyface.

Wait isn't that against the no compete clause? He can take international bookings but not U.S. bookings.

Why did they even bring him back last year on a big money contract? He was as bad as he was the first time round, and he was never going to draw money. Ricardo was always the best part of the act, and he didn't even come with him.

And nothing of value was lost. Del Rio has been one of the most boring wrestlers I've ever seen to get pushed repeatedly, only to fail time and time again. Vince was obsessed with getting this guy over and it never happened.

ADR was white-hot the night he came back, but even the very next night on RAW I found myself bored with him and I feel like he lost his edge almost immediately thereafter as well. Like three weeks after he came back (and was the reigning US champion who cleanly beat John Cena, clean as a whistle no bones about it) he wasn't even booked on RAW, and then I think the next week he ate a clean pin in a meaningless non-title match.
I suspect he got the last laugh, as I've read he got a really nice contract to come back, but I can tell he lost interest almost as soon as he came back and was saddled with all of the same creative issues as he was when he left the first time.
Beat of luck to him wrapping up his career in the next couple of years.

I was disappointed by his drop after beating Cena on his return, but am still sad to see him go. Hopefully he'll have some good matches out of this like when he left the last time. I'd love to see him do more spots with ROH if possible.
At least this time seems to be more amicable.

They needed to bring back Ricardo Rodriguez and the expensive cars in order to make ADR interesting again.
