I smell a lot of truth in what he is saying. AND I smell a lot of BS. #2 in merchandising?! I believe he was red hot and moving merch....but Im not buying #2.

I'm sure there's a measure of truth to what he said, but ultimately this is another case of he said, she said. Remember guys, there's three sides to every story, your side, my side and the truth.

I actually believe most of this to be honest. It's not the first time we hear that WWE s up a talent that's red hot. I remember watching that mania match with Henry and being like wtf when he lost. Same for that 2/3 falls match with Cena, thought he was winning but no super Cena won. What I find most ironic about this situation was that both Punk and Ryback left, but most importantly how Ryback call CM Punk a quitter but left in a similar fashion.

Its stories like Ryback's that make me wanna throw something at the TV every time they accuse WCW of only creating one home grown star in Goldberg. They criticize WCW's development of new headliners, yet are guilty of the exact same booking inadequecies. Ryback, whether i personally was a fan or not, was more over than Reigns has been the last two years and was well on his way to being Cena's equal if pushed properly. Its a misstep that happens in pro wrestling, so its nothing new, but if you're gonna repeat the mistakes you tout as one of the downfalls of your long gone main competition, perhaps you should either learn from that or just not bring it up.

I believe him, anyone remember Sandow getting a huge pop, because people loved him and then loosing to one armed cena...then getting a dress up gimmick over and then outdoing the Miz as the stunt double and then futures endeavored.
Ryback, Ryder, Sandow, hell even Alex Riley was super over at onepoint and then just trashed by cena or to keep cena over

I've never been a Ryback fan, but there is no denying that there was a time when he was a hot commodity. His allegations sound very plausible, especially since they echo the sentiments of numerous wrestlers from the last 10-12 years.

Remember the Attitude Era where everbody was happy to work at WWE. Even jobbers got some respect.
Ryback deserved much better. Hope he goes to NJPW and achieves the success he deseves.

It's a great read, and from reading Daniel Bryans book also, likewise very honest about how things are. The only phrase to describe it all is typical. WWE seems very black and white backstage, you're either 'in' or 'out'. If someone asked me what I thought Vince would think of Ryback, to me he's Vince'a typical favourite type of sports entertainer in wrestling. A big guy, appeals to the young kids, a great face. But like everyone's saying, he isn't Cena or Reigns and that seems to be the difference. He's been majorly mistreated, it's a shame he's had to go. I hope he enjoys what he's doing going forward.
