Go down to Bath and Body Works or the soap isle of your local store and buy a good smelling soap, shampoo, and conditioner. Once you have that you need to shower daily. After you're done with your shower towel yourself dry, completely dry. Leaving your body damp or moist and then putting on clothes will create a smell so be sure you are dry before you dress. Be sure you also have a good deodorant. Apply that deodorant to your armpit area every day.
As for your clothes, if you don't have a sister or mom or wife, wash them yourself every day. Get a good laundry detergent and a nice smelling fabric softener and wash your clothes. Wash your uniform, wash your under garments, wash your personal clothes, wash your socks. Also dry them properly once they are washed. Leaving clothes damp will create a really funky smell so drying is equally as important.
Also wear nice shoes. If you've had your shoes for more than a half a year it's time for new shoes. Believe it or not shoes can give off some smells as well so make sure you always have nice shoes and always wear a fresh pair of socks with your shoes.
Brush your teeth regularly. Also floss and get some mouth wash. This might be part of the problem.
These are the steps I take to try and stay clean. I think colognes only mask odors so I never get them. You can get a good cologne and try to smell nice or you can shower and actually smell nice. Same with teeth and brushing, you can get some mints and try to make your breath smell good or you can brush, floss, and rinse and actually smell good.

What is the world coming to when you have to explain to a grown man step by step how to wash yourself.

How could you not wash your work gear after work? Even if it's just for 3 hours you will still sweat.

So today, something really embarrassing happened to me. I started this new job a week ago in a bar and I thought I was coming along quite well. It's my first proper job and I was really enjoying it.
Today, my boss pulled my aside and said she has to say something to me and it's kinda personal. Now my first thought was, maybe my shyness and lack of social skills are coming through and customers are taking it as rudeness. But no, she said that there were complaints from customers over my Body Odor. I know... pretty embarrassing, right? now it first I was kinda taken aback by it. Cause I'm one of those "narcisstic" guys that usually spends a little too much time in the mirror. I take great pride in my appearance and generally make sure I'm clean, etc. I even shave my legs!
I admit, I only have one outfit for work and I usually just hang it up when I'm finished my shift. I just assumed I wouldn't have to throw it in the wash every day cause I only wear it for like, 3 hours. Cause that's what I need it for - every day. My "employer" only agreed to take me on for 3 weeks as a work experience type deal. I'm on a "program" that kinda requests that I find work somewhere. Maybe the issue was my clothes and not my body.
Anyway, the conversation was pretty humiliating to be honest. I'm questioning whether I should even show my face again after it... one thing I need to add is, I've barely served any customers in my week there. I think I've served like, 2. And one of them was a bunch of youngsters who wouldn't even have the bosse's number anyway.
And even if I had the worst body odor in the world, the customers wouldn't have smelt it all the way from behind the bar. My initial thought was one of my co-workers mentioned it. Which kinda makes me paranoid about the whole thing now. Cause they are the only ones who really came close to me.
I really enjoyed the job and I thought I was getting along with everybody there. But first impressions are key. I just feel I'll always be that "smelly guy" and for a guy like me, who has anxiety/panic disorder, I don't think I need that stress in my life right now.
What would you guys do? I mean, I'm scheduled to be in tomorrow but I'm thinking about just leaving the whole thing now. The worst thing is, I don't know who it was who complained. She said she had two complaints over it... from people who wouldn't know each other. My thoughts were one employee complained and she asked another one about it and she just said "Yeah". I don't think it was customers.
I just feel really embarrassed/humiliated about the whole thing. I do this bar work cause it gives me confidence in myself. I just feel like all that confidence went straight out the window. Bro, don't sweat it! It's just your clothes! Just get a couple more work outfits. You're doing a great job! Keep it up!

How much time do you spend in the shower? Maybe you need to spend more time, maybe you're missing spots, maybe you need better products and methods.
Also, wear an undershirt. That way when you sweat, it gets on the undershirt and not your work shirt.

Here's the bottom line and please do not take this the wrong way, I'm seriously attempting to help here.
First off, it was most likely a woman you work with. I had no idea just how important smells were to women, until I got my current job (I'm the only man here) and it's insane. Or should I say most of the people I work with are insane. So a few months back a woman started working with me who has dreadlocks. People are constantly complaining about her smelling and I haven't noticed it even once. Honestly, I think people don't like her and are trying to think of ways of getting rid of her.
Could be the same thing at your place. Judging from reading your posts, I'm assuming you are no idiot. You know if you smell or not. If you really don't think you do, it could be someone is threatened by you at work. But if you do think it's a legit issue, you should just wash your uniform more and maybe some cologne (subtle stuff) should knock that issue out.
Nothing to be embarrassed about dude, it could've just been a one day thing or something, but I honestly put the blame on your boss. They should've been a bit more professional in the manner they approached you, but you'll be seeing that a lot in life if you're young. I deal with people and their lack of professionalism on a day to day basis. It can get crazy.

This is such a human topic, a simple example of the human condition. Bro, don't worry about it. Time will heal this and you can move on. Just wash your clothes every few days and have several alternates so you don't have to worry about constantly doing your laundry. You'll be right as rain. As for me, well, this isn't about me, but i never run into that problem, but this one guy i used to work with had our secretary smelling him from time to time. She would enter his office and grab his business jacket and smell it, and when he was enjoying his morning paper and coffee in the cafeteria, she would come up behind him and smell him. It was bizarre, but maybe it was because he looked exactly like that magic mike guy. You know, in the movie? With kevin nash.As Tarzan. Yeah. That guy. By the way, i know this because i was dating a girl in the office who gossiped. Oh, man, she loved to gossip. Anyway... I strongly dislike daniel bryan because he doesn't understand or grasp the concept of wrestling psychology. This viewpoint i have isn't up for debate as this thread is about some guy's issue at his workplace.

Because the need to give the exact same advice as others did for three pages is strong. Open thread. Read original post. See that the thread is three pages long. Think "I bet nobody has said it's his clothes yet...I'll post that." That, and the OP has already gotten a taste from the drama milkshake and is long gone. This thread almost went the exact same way as the girl advice thread he posted a few months ago. I'm sure we'll get something good around January or February from him though. It's like waiting for the next part in a serial novel to come out.

It was your clothes. Just wash them between shifts, or get another work outfit so you can wash one when wearing the other. If you do this, everyone will forget about it. This. This right here. Wash your clothes. Some one told me recently that if you live with cats that have a litter box, as an owner you start not to smell it. Guests to your house notice any strong cat odours usually. So we now remove any "stuff" from the litterbox daily and keep windows open when we can. No more cat smell. If someone has commented on your BO, it's bad. Take it as constructive criticism. Would you be okay if I told you that there is food stuck in your teeth?

Been over a month and I still don't know why the OP shaves his legs.
And don't give me that "It makes me aerodynamic when I fight" noise.
