I wanna start out by saying that I've never been a Mac user or that much of an Apple fanboy, but there has always been something about the iPhone that I've loved.. The sleek look and operating system sold me way back in 2007. So for 9 years I've absolutely loved the iPhone device and it has always been my phone of choice.. Until recently.
I have no idea what they're doing anymore.. It started with removing the headphone jack and replacing it with (so far) extremely unreliable Bluetooth ear buds.. Now I have the iPhone 6 so this doesn't effect me just yet, but going forward it's definitely a YUGE turnoff when I look to upgrade.. And now I've just downloaded the iOS 10 and I gotta say, I STILL have no clue what they're doing.. They removed the swipe to open (WTF), it's draining my battery at an alarming rate, they've changed the text messaging format! Which has always been (IMO) the strongest part of an iPhone.
I no longer feel like they are improving their product and that they're making changes to simply 'think different' rather than appeal and please users.
I'm beyond disappointed with the direction Apple has taken the iPhone.. And if they don't (they probably won't) realize some of their mistakes when working on the next iPhone update and the iPhone 7s - iPhone 8, I'm taking my talents elsewhere.
Anyone else on here got an iPhone or any opinions on the iPhone? Just curious..

I'm what people call an "Apple fanboy" and I don't mind it. The headphone jack being removed doesn't bother me since I use my iPod Classic for listening to music. That being said, I have zero idea why they'd change it so you press the Home button to use your iPhone. I don't get it at all. I go to check the time by pressing said button and now it unlocks my phone. Small problem though. I'm fine with the rest. I certainly won't be changing to Samsung anytime soon.

I have the 6 and I don't plan on upgrading until the next one comes out. I can live without the headphone jack but there's nothing about the 7 that has really gotten me excited enough to upgrade.

I'm due for an upgrade and its neccesary because the battery is shot. My current mindset is just to get the 6s since it's cheaper. I'm not a fan of taking away the headphone jack in favor of wireless. I just bought a pair of wired Beats last year, opting not to get the wireless ones
Also, I run everyday but when I run and listen to music, I hold my iPhone in my hands while running. So I don't know if this adapter thing will interfere with that. The only thing the 7 really offers is the colors. The black ones are nice but I don't know if it's enough to sway me in that direction

Did you update to the iOS 10 on your 6? I did. Still not used to the slide to unlock being gone. And I know in some of the older iphone models the home button at times eventually stopped working so I hope that doesn't happen on this phone from having to click every time you unlock the phone.

My iPhone 4 home button broke one time, so I understand the concern.. Alot of these changes were unnecessary.. I think the new Apple Music design is also trash.. It looks like it was designed for kids.. I'm hoping Apple recognizes the issues moving forward.

I have a 6 and I love it. Although I kind of want the 7. I wasn't too excited about it at first but the more reviews I've watched on the 7 Plus, the more I want it. The matte black one is super sleek!

I have the 6, not interested in upgrading to 7 for the time being. I'm not a fan of the most recent iOS upgrade, the little things like the slide to unlock and just typing this comment, where, if I use punctuation, I have to manually select the 'ABC' button to revert to text - which is how it used to be. First world problems, I know, but if you're used to it and it ain't ing broke, don't fix it!

I just got the iPhone 7 Plus in Jet Black this week and I love it. I was a little unsure about the headphone jack being removed, but I can still listen to music, and they also give you an adapter so I don't think it's that big of a deal. Perhaps this was the only way Apple could make the phone dust resistant? The only thing you can't do is charge your phone while listening to music with your headphones in or if you use your headphones to talk on your phone like I do, then you can't charge it while on the phone either. However my battery never really gets that low anyway so I don't see it as a big deal. I love the look of the jet black but I would suggest always have alcohol pads handy to clean off the phone. Once again I clean my phone off regularly so it's not much of a problem for me.

I'm on a 6 and quite frankly I won't be getting a new one for a while. I'm fine with this one and not updating the iOS because it makes it slower... There's just so many things I don't like about the iPhone 7, for one the stupid head jack idea. I personally think it was their way of saying "hey buy our headphones or deal with it". Also freaking hate the camera on this model too, the 6 had a pretty ugly one too, but this one takes the cak. It looks like bender from futurama. I prefer the flat lens on models like the 5s.... At times I feel like we're getting the same recycled phone year after year. I think the only thing I like is the water resistance (why not waterproof?) and the color variety. Other than that, I'm not even sure if I'll be getting a new phone. Maybe once this one breaks because I have a habit of destroying my phones.

I've been an Apple guy for years in all departments except the iPhone. I have and love a Macbook Pro, and I've been using iPods for my music for well over a decade. I'd always been an Android guy when it comes to phones and tablets. I preferred the plethora of choices and the Android operating system as a whole.
Then I had an altogether negative experience with the Galaxy S7 Edge this year and decided, what the hell, I'll give the iPhone a shot. I've gotten in the habit of upgrading every year now, so, worst comes to worse, I have the 7 Plus for a year and then switch back to Android.
I've been using the 7 Plus since launch day and I really like it, but there are undoubtedly things I miss about Android. I'm never going to be one of those people who absolutely swears by one or the other at this point - they both have very distinct positives and negatives. For one, the 7 Plus' battery life is vastly superior to any flagship Android I've ever owned. I presume this has to do with software optimization. On the flip side, I miss the wireless charging my Android offered, and its notification light. In general, I find Android's system for notifications to be superior.
The problems you're speaking of didn't hit me, though, because I'd never had an iPhone before. Though I used them extensively (all of my family members have them), I'd never gotten used to the unlocking the device a certain way, so iOS 10's method immediately became natural to me. It probably helps that Android uses a similar, if not identical unlocking method.
The headphone jack meant nothing to me, either. I use an iPod for music and very much like to keep the two separate. If I kept my music on my phone, though, I probably wouldn't have given the 7 a second glance.
