I've always wanted to learn, so I finally started lessons. must be some people here who play them right? Just curious what people's experience has been with them.

I play airdrums and drums on GarageBand on my iPhone but that's it.

I don't, but my girlfriend does. She has been playing for about 6 years and can play some mean crap on them now.

She recently decided to put her kit into my apartment. I don't have the balls to tell her that they're sorta too big. They legit take up almost an entire room, in my 2 room apartment. But she plays some Chili Peppers at times so it's all good.

Its an awesome feeling playing the drums, there's plenty of good videos of youtube you can watch. I took it up a few years ago and was really getting into it but had to stop because my parents divorced so I had to move and had no room for them anymore! Ive just moved into my own place recently though and I'm thinking of getting an electric kit as I've got a nice little room to play them in and hopefully they wont be too much of a noise issue, rock on!

Timing is everything. You can say this about any instrument, but with drums it's especially important. Once you master keeping time you can basically branch out and do anything. I've only been playing for a year, but knowing how to play other instruments probably helped me along a little bit.

Yep, been playing since 2005 and God do I still love it every single time I sit behind the kit and play.

Been playing since 2006 👍
I love playing Foo Fighters and Metallica, but also bands like ZZ Top, Boston, and any big 80's bands.
I'm not at all interested in super screamo hardcore fml dbl kick pedals going 90 to nothing smashing songs ... that's just not my style. I'm more late 70's, 80's and some rock stuff.

I've been playing since I was 9 months old. I got serious with it while I was a freshmen in high school. It's such an amazing and underrated instrument that's still very musical and challenging.

I've played for a few years so I learned a bit about music in general like reading it. A lot of that is coming back to me now in my mind.

In high school I did, yeah...sadly not anymore. The band just drifted apart.
I kept good time too.

I don't but I had a friend who played in a KISS cover band. He quit because he never got girls. He said girls don't want drummers. LOL!!
