Seems odd to claim you're blacklisted months after being on a WWE DVD. Gonna have to wait for more info before I get invested.

Never liked him and I don't see why he'd be considered HOF material. Because he was the voice of WCW. You can not like the guy but between his time in the NWA and WCW, he had a pretty great career. I know Brain hates him but some of their commentary from the MNWs is some of the funniest dialogue of all time. Heenan hating his job and not caring made for spectacular tv. WCW wasn't known for their commentary. Schiavone also withheld the finishes to matches from his colleagues, leading to the infamous "but who's side is he on" comment.

i don't know for sure if it's the reasoning, but i don't think it was very smart to cross heenan. i don't think shane douglas is gonna be showing up on wwe tv either any time soon considering flair's relationship with triple h. heenan has a great immense amount of respect from fans and those in the business alike, and it wouldn't be hard for schiavone to have fallen out of favor for them. anyways, in my opinion mike 'the professor' tenay deserves a spot just as much if not more than schiavone! he's been involved in wrestling in one way or another since the friggin 60s. guy never got his due imo. What did he do to Heenan? he refused to work heenan's style of comedy commentating, therefore isolating heenan from really being any use out their for his entire wcw career. most of his jokes were ignored or even torn into, he was often harsh to bobby, and it was clear that the two had an overall toxic relationship. when bobby was diagnosed with cancer, he said that schiavone was the one guy who didn't call him. schiavone has since admitted he was wrong for his treatment of bobby and regrets it.

The who's side is he on comment didn't take anything away from bash 96. It was perfectly normal for Heenan to downgrade Hogan.

I just never did like the guy. He had absolutely no chemistry with Heenan and its known that he was horrible to the Brain. I think even Tony himself admitted that he was pretty awful to Heenan.
Aside from not liking him personally. Professionally, he was intelligent but not entertaining. I like how King and Ross were entertaining, Heenan and Monsoon were entertaining as well as Cole and JBL. And most of you know I'm always bias in favor of Tom Phillips even if he isn't very talented.

Glad to hear that I'm not the only one who likes Teney. Yeah he wasn't great as a lead commentator but the guy always gave it his all and seemed to love his job. Tony I was never a fan of but Teney was enjoyable to me. I put Teney up there with guys like Monsoon, Heenan, Ventura, JR, and King (in his prime).

Schiavone was great. I loved WCW commentator teams way more than WWF's Monday Night Wars teams

Anyone who says Heenan gave away Hogan's heel turn is a ing liar. he did though? Yeah. People tend to get defensive because Heenan is one of the all time greats, but he should have not said "Which side is he on". It places doubt in the fans mind at the very last second.

It was just good heel commentating. it would not have been the least bit alarming if heenan simply showed his usual detest to hogan, "not him again!" or "why can't he stay outta this!" there's a reason it's so discussed - overall it was a blunder.

I disagree. It felt normal hearing Heenan say that about Hogan to me. Had he said something else or nothing at all it would have been more obvious.

It's discussed because people are liars and like to claim that it was 'obvious' and how awesome they are for knowing beforehand that Hogan was turning heel.
