Is it just me or was Tommy Dreamer a bit off on the ECW Untold special. I just now got the chance to watch it in its entirety. To me, his body language was just awkward. He barely laughed along with the guys. I also noticed her made a quick comment about wishing he was closer to Heyman again. I know they were pretty tight back in the day. Do you think they had a falling out or what? I got the vibe Dreamer was either uncomfortable or had an issue with someone else on the panel. Just wondering if anyone else caught it or not.

I got that impression too. But, then, I think maybe he's struggled with seeing his best friends 24/7 to now having to see them sparingly due to other commitments.
I also feel like ECW was way more important to Tommy than most others, maybe even Heyman at this stage who has moved on with his career.

I never thought of that. I always thought of Tommy as the Sting of ECW. Both were dedicated to their brand only. Tommy, in my opinion, doesn't get enough credit. Yeah the Dudley's are ECW originals, RVD and Taz are originals, Sabu and Sandman are originals...but Tommy stayed through til the end. I can say with 100% confidence that Tommy would have done ECW for free for who knows how long. I'm sure he is still owed alot of money that he'll never see.
WWE has done a good job of giving credit to the Dudley Boys for their part in ECW. But I feel like Dreamer doesn't get enough credit.

They did legit have a falling out. From what I remember hearing, Tommy was going to buy ECW off Heyman in late 2000. But Heyman chose to let ECW die, and go take a job on Monday Night Raw. So Dreamer got ed out of owning ECW then. Tommy loved ECW, more than any other wrestler, more than Heyman did. So that is the reasoning that to this day, Tommy isn't 100% tight with Paul. Its probably still a huge sore spot with Tommy and always will be.

YeAh you could tell he had some stuff on his mind. He just didn't seem as relaxed as the rest of the guys. At one part he got a bit snippy with Taz I believe it was. "Can I finish?" I think is what he said or something to that effect.
I think Tommy, as well as Heyman, have more to say about ECW. Sorry but any WWE program show has 0 potential as a shoot. I believe WWE not only hands scripts but also wants briefed on what these guys have to say. I always feel like I'm getting very watered down stories from WWE programming. I'd like to see Dreamer, Heyman and the rest in a shoot outside of WWE. I think then we'd get the total stories and maybe Tommy would have some resolution.
In my opinion, I don't think Tommy would have been able to salvage ECW. I'm not saying he's not smart. However Paul is slick, he is able to bend rules and get away with things. I think Paul really saved Tommy the trouble. I don't think Paul gave up on ECW. I believe in not selling to Tommy, he did him a favor. Hopefully the two can one day settle it and become close again. Paul cared and still cares for the ECW talent.

Tommy seemed like he was getting a little emotional at the end, holding back tears.

Theres no way Dreamer could of saved ECW. And it was Heyman's baby anyway. Yeah the wrestlers made it what it was but it was under Heyman's umbrella. Why just give it to Dreamer. Heyman's smart, he probably knew ECW's footage would be worth something later on as well.

Heyman's smart, he probably knew ECW's footage would be worth something later on as well. It wasn't always Heyman's baby. It originally was Eddie Gilbert's. Then Eddie left ECW and Tod needed a booker, so he gave it to Heyman. Then Heyman slowly took it over from Tod.

Way back when WWF was having lumberjack/matches and lame gimmicks to match. Remember E-C-Dub? Yahayaha you never thought the Extreme would make it this far.

I think Tommy was, and still is, so dedicated to ECW that he doesn't stop to think about it. The inner workings of the brand were obviously run by the talent. By the time it closed up there were no talent dedicated enough to run it the way the Dudley Boys, Taz and a few others did. Dreamer would have been stuck with a company that was sinking too far.
