Just looking into getting one of these, but saw insane prices on evilbay. Anyone know the story on these?

I just set a MIB one from CT to CA, it cost a legit $55 in shipping. I had bought one when my store was closing, but I never opening it and I figured I might as well move it. If I was smart I would've bought the rest of them. My store had several left even up to its last few days.

They were exclusive to Kmart around 2-3 years ago if I'm not mistaking.
I actually picked one up on classifieds this year for a very good deal. I like it, but definitely not worth the expensive prices on eBay.

If anybody has one I'd love to get it. Or knows of anyone with one. I'm currently setting up my arena area and want to have it to add on.

Good ol Kmart exclusive. Never felt it was worth the original $50 price. Waited over a year and snagged it for $9 on clearance.

They should do a re-release at a more reasonable price.

Someone got a picture of what we're talking about? I thought there were two different ones? I'm still waiting for the contact signing play set to show up...

If Mattel does get back into back stage sets, I'd like them to be a little more focused, less ridiculously stupid breakable pieces, and a material that is stronger than the card stock used.
It's better to find the independent back stage makers, there is a good group that makes them, or research Jakks Playsets.

I always wanted one, but couldn't find it for less than $52, now it's like $300, because eBay guy said so.

I'd say if you cannot afford the sadistic prices, and you just want something more that looks good, take a look at the extreme sets website where they have Backstage pop ups. Sure it's cardboard but it looks good, not a lot of money and you can just put some props in too.

They were too flimsy.
