Recently started collecting and have a few questions. I've noticed pricing changing almost daily on Amazon. Is this common or due to the holidays? Other than Ringside Collectibles, Amazon, and Ebay what are the best sources?

Well, everyone takes a different approach to buying. Some like the retail hunt. Others pre-order everything to get it as soon as possible. Some wait for bargains. I buy just about everything from Amazon, because if you build a wish list, wait and check it daily, you can get most elites from between $10-$15. I have also gotten a lot of great Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals from RSC. The only thing I get at retail or buy at full price are exclusives.
If you're shopping for older figures, I've gotten most of mine off eBay. I made a spreadsheet of every figure I wanted and I just check eBay weekly and try to get a good deal.

Ringside is the best and most logical choice Nowadays, I buy about 80% of my figures from RSC and Amazon.

Thanks. I guess I should have jumped at the time bc a few on my wish list jumped $7-8 in a few days.

I don't know of Sears still have good finds... I think not since I cut it from my hunt locations, but might be a good spot for older figures. Other than that, check craigslist every now and then. Also, flea markets and shops that specialize in resale, like Vintage Stock.

Shop Ringside. But don't shy away from actual physical retail. Internet shopping is killing brick and mortar.

I just started getting back into collecting this past summer. Here's how everything worked for me.
Starting out, I was able to get a lot of stuff in stores because I didn't have ANYTHING. So lots of trips to Walmart, Target (which is completely a waste at this point for me), Gamestop, Big Lots, Toys R Us, Walgreens, and even a few KMarts. Then I basically got the majority of the stuff I needed there and eventually the hunts would become pointless to me.
From that point I started getting my stuff from Amazon, eBay (for odds and ends that I can't find in the stores), and Ringside Collectibles.
At this point I even pay a little more and preorder stuff from RSC because it's actually cheaper to do it that way and not waste gas and my time driving everywhere. Also check out the classifieds here once you have the posts here for it to show up. You might wanna check on a few groups on Facebook too if you're on there. I've managed to get a lot of deals that way.
Good luck and happy hunting!
