During 2006 to 2014, the WWE would do several lumberjack or lumberjill matches during events such as WrestleMania, Night of Champions or Survivor Series but in the last couple of years, the WWE would pretty much stop doing them. Thoughts?

They stopped in 2014? The same year Cody Rhodes became Stardust?
Coincidence? I think not.

they're kind of a dated gimmick - the idea of a guy being thrown outside the ring amongst a crowd of wrestlers relegated to 'throw him back in' isn't all that sensational any more (and hasn't since the mid90s). that said, i could see them making the odd appearance for cross promotional matches between raw and smackdown.

I loved those matches. I loved back in the day when the guys just got beat up good if they landed outside. You used to fear if the wrestler got thrown out of the ring. It worked better back then when they had a lot of factions.

The last one I remember was Rollins vs. Ambrose at Summerslam a few years back, and it was a pretty good match.
Honestly, any gimmick match should be used as sparingly as possible.

Speaking of which, I was thinking about the possibility of a Charlotte vs. Bayley match at WrestleMania 33 being a lumberjill match with the other female Superstars (unlike the Diva days where the lumberjills would wear their street clothes, the lumberjills today would were their ring attires just like their male counterparts did). Thoughts?

WWE hasn't done an evening gown match in a while if I am not mistaken

Never seen the point, most wrestlers are back in the ring by a 10 count a for the Owens type walk out heels they et dragged back by their opponent. The only purpose they serve is to stop a double count out which is fairly rare anyway...
It'd be a good build for a smackdown vs raw survivor series match maybe like this year's they could have had Owens vs AJ Styles with the rest of the teams as lumberjack.
