He went to 3 3/4 because they kind of made him. You think Vonner had a hand in those crap waves like Annihilus, Blob and Brood Queen? Hasbro intentionally tried to kill the 6 inch line and he was put on 3 3/4 because that's what they wanted to push. For the first few years, that line was very good. Finally Hasbro gave in to fan demand, and launched the Return of Marvel Legends with the Terrax wave, and realized "holy crap, we can make a ton of money here," and switched focus to that, thus losing focus on the 3 3/4 line, which is now absolutely dreadful. Imagine if they would wisen up and do a GI Joe Black series, based on the 80s line Also, at the time the Marvel Universe line was in full gear it seemed like everyone and their mothers were doing 3 3/4 inch figures. Even WWE and UFC tried it. At one of the Toy Fairs in that time period I remember one of the designers was all like "3 3/4 inch is the future of action figures. With increasing costs this is how companies can get consumers the figures they want at and affordable price point." That's not a direct quote but basically the gist of what the guy was saying. I didn't mind so much when they got rid of the ab articulation in Marvel Universe but it got to a point where there was seemingly no effort put into the waves.

Lol Vonner didn't do the 3 3/4 line cause he wanted to. His primary work was Toy Biz Marvel Legends, when they were on top of the world. Dude is very in touch and personable and I cannot wait to see what he brings us. I don't know him but the consensus seems to be this. Good to hear.

Meh, they'll just cut budget on figures again to have to pay him & Bill now lol Now they will cast the whole figure in black. Great lol Is this a racist joke because the guy is African American?! lol... Just kidding with you of course, but I read this post and just couldn't resist.

The thing with 3 3/4 is that it CAN work when done right. Again. Look at GI Joe, Marvel Universe (at first) and Star Wars. Problem is Jakks tried with wwe and ufc and kept those goofy muscle proportions and crap paint jobs. Not saying 3 3/4 is the way to go for WWE, but Jakks wasn't the company to do it. That's Hasbro's bread and butter. If anything, I hope Vonner tweaks the elite mold and allows an elbow swivel to allow a wider range for better posing. They easily could have added that with the recent arm change

I think he did a great job on the MU 3.75 line and am happy to see him joining Mattel's WWE line.

As long as we get that ankle pivot I'll be happy. Happy to see this guy working on WWE mattel figures..hope he fixes some of the big issues.
Also GI Joe 6 inch based of the 80s cartoon. This is a gold mine for hasbro they have to know that. Esp after how well the 6inch star wars are doing.

Hopefully he knows the difference between ginger and brown/blonde. As long as he has his glasses on, we should be good. I was listening to a podcast he was on earlier and he said he likes to have minor variations that get collectors to buy more figures. I hope that means 50/50 splits, not 1/100, bust your balls exclusives like Jakks used to do. I mean, we kind of get it already with running changes and rereleases, but I'd be down for more E10 Dibiase kind of stuff. I think he would fit in great here though, he mentioned a disgruntled collector calling him out as a person on a forum before, so he PM'ed the guy his phone number and had a chat with him and brought him back down to earth. Anyone who'd that, probably wouldn't be hushed by a vocal minority.
