Finally!
Now everyone can put to rest the theories of who would have been in that Orange Card release.
Now the mystery still remains about the last LJN line that never came out.... that one may never be answered.

Notice the Doink is dated 93 as opposed to 94. Likely just the original Doink drawing when he was supposed to be evil, and not a new one for the orange cards?

I find it very odd that the date on the Luger is 2/93. That's weeks after his debut. He didn't do the American gimmick until July 93. Is it just me or is anyone else thinking this is doctored. I really want to believe these are real, but I'm having a hard time believing.

I really want to believe these are real, but I'm having a hard time believing. It was drawn over the original Lex Luger design from the original figure. It's references the silver parts of his original figure throughout the photo. This is definitely real for sure. They all are.

There's a 2up Tugboat on there too, hopefully MattelDesignTeam gets to make him and other Hasbro spot fillers. mattel already made tugboat...unless you mean in the retro style I could see mattel making some of the most wanted never to have a hasbro figure in there current line of retro figures if they succeed past 3 to 4 sets

Sadly I am not convinced that these are legit. I have copies of 61 sketches from the entire line and many things make me doubt their authenticity. One, the seller is also listing "original sketches" of 4 other figures. The pics look to be of the copies I posted in the past few years as they are not complete and WHITE, not yellowed paper Please, they would have been drawn over 20 years ago. If you look up " Rockers blueprint " on the bay and you will see what I mean. Two, while Ron Rudat did reuse some of the sketches for newer releases, there were more descriptive terms of that wrestler used. Look at the terms next to the body parts and they do not even coincide to the Orange series figure shown. I'll have to pull my copies back out and see what previous wrestlers were drawn over. The seller may have been duped too and unless they were obtained directly from Rudat, it's basically whiting out old sketches, coloring and cutting and pasting.

So with the head sculpts and the artwork this puts the orange card series at
Diesel Mo Mabel Jeff Jarrett Doink Undertaker Lex Luger Bastion Booger Kerry Von Eric
Seems like a really solid line up! It's so crazy that it took 20 years for this info to finally come out

Also, interesting that Jeff Jarrett was spelt incorrectly on the sketch ...

Also, interesting that Jeff Jarrett was spelt incorrectly on the sketch ... Especially since he always spelled out his name: that's J-E-Double F, J-A-Double R-E-Double T! No, seriously not that odd.

Apparently, all were obtained from Ron Rudat along with all of the drawings Ron had. I would imagine if you're looking to shell out 3K on these, you'd have it verified by him first.

I realize that the orange card sketches are copies but my comparison of the seller's other "original" sketches on white paper to the legit Rockers one makes me highly doubt the orange series sketches authenticity. Even my smaller copies have started to yellow after all these years and I store my toys/comics/collectibles very well.
I'll pull out my set of the older series sketches and add some further insight later tonight. I don't want to burst collectors' bubbles so to speak and I'd like to believe that these are real too and will be the 1st to apologize and go on record if I am wrong.

The date of the Luger figure is dubious. I'm not sure about these either... But if they are legit a few things I've noticed/thought of. -
1. It's a shame Bastian Boogers outfit would have been a paint over of the Earthquake body meaning the singlet sculpt would still be visible.
2. Lex Lugers attire was not red on the backside....
3. The figures are a realistic set that would have been released, but Doink was not 'evil' during this period and is missing his pin stripes down the legs.
4. Is Diesel made from the Shango mold? Looks as if he is which would add weight to hasbros laziness towards the end of the line.
5. Mo seems to have a Snuka or Warrior hand. Looks weird.
6. Why no Owen Hart? Surely this would have been a must.
7. Jarrett would be better suited to a Jake Roberts mold IMO but is still the best one here. His surname is spelt wrong.
8. Mabel looks good, but maybe a figure similar to Yokozuna size would have been better?
9. I am picking holes here I know, if these are legit then awesome!! I would have loved everyone of them back in the day and they would have all been welcome additions to my figures federation 😃😃

Time will tell if these end up being legit, cool nonetheless..What about the "Mannix" Diesel head..If it was an unused Hasbro mold..We will never know all the answers, which makes this line very interesting. You never know what's going to pop up next!

Simply Amazing. Sad though that the quality seemed to be continuing on the downward spiral with terrible paint overs.

If that was the Diesel we would have got, i'm glad we didnt get it. Just a Nash head on a Shango body? That's some weak custom kinda stuff. He didn't wear tights, he had long pants. I know Hasbro were cutting some corners towards the end (Ludvig Borga, Smoking Gunn's boots), but that is a bit much for me.

So -
Lex Luger repaint Doink repaint Diesel on Papa Shango body Booger with painted straps
MOM and Jarrett would have probably been the best. I wish that hasbro carried on into the 95/96 period. So many cool gimmicks to make their cartoonish figures from!

It's been a rough evening. I'll have to do my research at some point in the next day or so. I want to believe that these aren't a custom job myself.
