Thought this would be an interesting thread: let's keep it honest with our responses here, you're only lying to yourself if you don't.
Let's talk about who you predicted would win the Royal Rumble match for every Rumble you've watched in your time as a fan.
I became a proper wrestling fan around mid 1998 so '99 would've been the first live Rumble I watched. Here's a list of my Rumble predictions from 1999 to 2016.
1999: Stone Cold Steve Austin 2000: The Rock 2001: Austin 2002: Triple H 2003: Kane 2004: Kurt Angle 2005: Batista or Kane 2006: Randy Orton 2007: The Undertaker 2008: I really couldn't decide on a winner that year. I was stuck between Triple H, Batista, Taker and Shawn Michaels. Definitely never saw Cena returning. 2009: Randy Orton 2010: Edge 2011: Same as 2008, I was stuck between Orton and John Cena. 2012: Chris Jericho 2013: Randy Orton 2014: I held on to Daniel Bryan right up until we learned he wasn't in the match. 2015: Daniel Bryan 2016: Triple H 2017: Another tough one to predict this year. I'm going with Jericho or Taker.

Most of the ones I nailed were super obvious to begin with (HHH in 02, Orton in 09, Cena in 13, Batista in 14, Reigns in 15, HHH in 16). Hopefully this year's Rumble isn't completely obvious because the WWE has been pretty bad with predictable Rumbles lately.

I was well chuffed with myself when I predicted HHH to win the '02 Rumble. It was on the basis of him reversing The Big Show's finisher and Pedigreeing him in a segment where he cleared the ring. 6 year old me was impressed with HHH...
Other than that I can only remember '09, '14, '15 and '16 which were all pretty obvious. '07 was spoiled for me in school, bastards..

I became a fan in 98, but the earliest Rumble I remember seeing was 2004, so I'll start there. 2004: Goldberg 2005: Eddie Guerrero 2006: Rey Mysterio 2007: 2008: Triple H 2009: 2010: 2011: Alberto Del Rio 2012: Chris Jericho 2013: John Cena 2014: Batista 2015: Roman Reigns 2016: Triple H 2017: Sami Zayn

I watched since 2011 and all my predictions were right. This year I am deciding on Taker, Sami Zayn, or Goldberg

First Rumble I watched live was 1998, so I'll start there.
1998-Austin, even though it was obvious he was winning 1999-Austin, I don't think people saw Vince winning 2000-The Rock 2001-Can't remember of the top of my head 2002-Triple H, obvious winner 2003-Lesnar, obvious winner 2004-Benoit, again obvious winner 2005-Batista or Cena 2006- Orton or Triple H, didn't see Rey's win coming 2007-Undertaker 2008-Triple H, didn't except to see Cena return 2009-Triple H or Orton 2010-Edge 2011-Cena 2012-Jericho 2013-Cena, everyone knew he was winning this one 2014- Bryan until he wasn't in the match 2015- Bryan, even though I knew Reigns was winning 2016-Reigns 2017-Undertaker

First I watched is 2002 so I'll start there but probably won't remember all of them:
2002: Kurt Angle (Triple H won) 2003: Undertaker (Brock Lesnar won) 2004: Chris Benoit (cause it was the entrant built upon the most) 2005: Shawn Michaels (Batista won) 2006: Rey Mysterio/Chavo/Benoit (whole Eddie thing) 2007: not too sure I remember but I feel like Shawn Michaels again (Undertaker won) 2008: Triple H (John Cena won) 2009: Randy Orton (everyone should've known this one) 2010: Chris Jericho (Edge won) 2011: John Cena (Del Rio won) 2012: Chris Jericho (should've been right but stupid Sheamus won) 2013: John Cena (should've been Rock and Punk with him at Mania) 2014: Batista (started to get super obvious for these 3 years) 2015: Roman Reigns (SUPER obvious) 2016: Roman Reigns (finally a surprise! Triple H won and the shot of him and Dean staring at each other from across the ring was ace) 2017: Seth Rollins or Chris Jericho (it'll be Hornswoggle probably)

Yeah he had a story going into it but so did a few of the other top guys in the match. And gotta remember that not only did the WWE never go all in on Benoit to that point, but they always seemed to tease something with him, only to see him fail. And once they announced him as #1, I don't think anyone had him picked to win it. Angle and Cena were more likely to win than Benoit going into the match.

Started watching in December of '98, so I'll start with '99, obviously.
1999: Stone Cold 2000: The Rock 2001: Stone Cold 2002: Triple H 2003: Brock Lesnar 2004: Chris Benoit 2005: John Cena 2006: Randy Orton 2007: Shawn Michaels 2008: Triple H 2009: Randy Orton 2010: Edge 2011: Genuinely don't remember. I think I sort of feared Del Rio, but wasn't sure they'd do it 2012: Chris Jericho 2013: John Cena 2014: Batista 2015: Roman Reigns 2016: Triple H

1989 - Hulk Hogan 1990 - Hulk Hogan 1991 - Hulk Hogan 1992 - Hulk Hogan 1993 - Yokozuna 1994 - Lex Luger 1995 - Shawn Michaels 1996 - Shawn Michaels 1997 - Bret Hart 1998 - Steve Austin 1999 - Triple H 2000 - The Rock 2001 - Steve Austin 2002 - Triple H 2003 - Brock Lesnar 2004 - Chris Benoit 2005 - Batista 2006 - Rey Mysterio 2007 - Randy Orton 2008 - Triple H 2009 - Randy Orton 2010 - Shawn Michaels 2011 - John Cena 2012 - Chris Jericho 2013 - Ryback 2014 - Batista 2015 - Roman Reigns 2016 - Roman Reigns
So I was only off for a few of them. But honestly, a lot of them it was pretty obvious leading into the event at who was going to win the thing.

2000: The Rock 2001: Stone Cold 2002: Triple H 2003: Brock Lesnar 2004: Goldberg (I genuinely had no idea they were going for the whole Benoit & Eddie thing around this point, and was shocked when I saw it come down to Benoit & Big Show. I was convinced the Main Event was going to be Goldberg vs Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship). 2005: John Cena or Batista 2006: Randy Orton 2007: Shawn Michaels 2008: Triple H 2009: Randy Orton 2010: CM Punk 2011: CM Punk 2012: I had a strong feeling it was going to be Sheamus, especially after Del Rio got it the year before. 2013: John Cena 2014: Batista 2015: Roman Reigns 2016: Triple H
Looking back on it, I've gotten all but 3/4 wrong, which I guess shows how predictable it actually is. Even as a child watching between 2000-2004, I could still pretty much see where they were heading with things.

These are just the predictions I remember making
2004: Kurt Angle 2005: Daniel Puder (yes, I seriously believed he was going to win) 2006: HHH 2007: The Great Khali 2008: HHH 2009: HHH 2010: HHH 2011: HHH 2012: The Miz 2013: Dolph Ziggler 2014: Batista 2015: Roman Reigns 2016: Roman Reigns

2007 - HBK 2008 - Umaga 2009 - Triple H 2010 - HBK 2011 - John Cena 2012 - Chris Jericho 2013 - John Cena 2014 - Batista 2015 - Daniel Bryan 2016 - HHH
As you can see I'm not very good at this lol. As for this year
2017 - Undertaker I've been saying we need Taker vs Cena since last September, this appears to be the way we get it.
