- Former WWE Superstar Fred Ottman (Tugboat, The Shockmaster) was hospitalized on Tuesday morning in St. Petersburg, Florida, according to his wife Sheila on Facebook.
Sheila announced that Fred was very sick and that the infection he had was very scary. She also said that early Wednesday morning Fred was alert and talking. The latest update came on Wednesday afternoon when she wrote that Fred was still very weak and sick but is expected to be better in a few days. Fans who want to drop Tugboat a letter or card can mail it to:
St. Anthony’s Hospital c/o Fred Ottman 145 5th Avenue North St. Petersburg, FL 33701
Ottman is one of the rumored names for the 2017 WWE Hall of Fame class with the late John Tenta (Earthquake).

Scary to hear it was serious, but at least it's a positive sign that he's expected to be ok. He really just comes off as such a nice guy, and it's great how he can poke fun at himself over the Shockmaster debut, when others would probably not want to event mention it, if it happened to them.

I hate to hear this happen to anyone (for the most part), but especially one of the genuinely nicest guys in the business. Me posting on a forum that he will never read is pointless, but I do truly hope he makes a quick recovery.

As everyone else has said he's a class act guy, never heard anything bad about him. Wishing a fast recovery.

Isn't he an actual boat? Where do they repair boats.

Agreed - I have never heard anything bad about the guy either, never any reports about if he was hard to get along or anything - so he always struck me as being a fairly nice person to work with. hope he gets better soon - loved watching the natural disasters as a kid, when I was around 10 years old - I'm 34 now lol.

Fully expected to come into this thread and see someone make a joke about him being hospitalized after falling through a wall. Guess I'll be that guy then.
Anyway I hope he gets well soon.

Hoping for a speedy recovery for Tugboat, the guy just seems like a class act.

And honestly, he'd probably laugh at that joke too. The guy just seems like a big kid at heart. found this update from a couple days ago: Fred “Tugboat” Ottman’s wife Sheila called into talk with Bill Apter yesterday and discuss the former Shockmaster’s condition. Sheila said that Ottman, who was hospitalized earlier this week, was unconscious when they brought him in and she wasn’t sure if he’d had a stroke or not. She said he had an infection that led to a fever of 104 degrees and was told yesterday that he has four different types of infections. Sheila said that he’s doing “much, much, much better” and is talking and in good spirits. She said that as far as a diagnosis, it is mostly the infections, noting that he is diabetic and sometimes gets infections because of that, but that he also has E. coli. The address in the OP reminded me of when Tugboat told everyone to write in to tell Hulk to get better after Earthquake attacked him, and then the WWF sent you a Hulk Hogan friendship bracelet.
Get better Tugger!
