Ok, now I know there's tons of topics on the Mattel board, but I'm dying to know the real Hasbro collectors opinions of the new Mattel Retro style Hasbro figures.
I went to 2 walmart's to try and snag a few, pegs were CLEARED out. Then I went over to ebay, and said, great resellers are gonna grab them all. The set of 4 was going for $80+ and each individual $20-25 at the time I checked. But the third Walmart I tried were filled to the brim. You know, I haven't watched wrestling in 15 years, have NO clue who Kevin Owens is, have never seen Roman Reigns wrestle once, but I haven't had that exciting feeling of seeing Hasbro wrestling figures on the pegs at a store in over 20+ years.
Man these things are GREAT! Packaging not as good, figures not as cartoonish, but they do the job. It was weird walking down that aisle and seeing that shame shaped card, and those same size figures filled to the brim on the shelf. I honestly felt like 10 years old all over again. Very cool deja-vu, frozen in time type feeling.
Picked up a Cena and love it. Cant wait for the Undertaker and Warrior. Hope they make multiple series, would love to see a Diesel, Owen Hart, Jeff Jarrett, Rock, And Stone Cold. And they need to chill out on the slam action, honestly those were my least favorite next to the peg jumpers, and 4 out of the first 6 have a slam-type action.

Warrior looks weird w/his fingers sticking straight out, but other than that they look pretty solid. I don't collect anymore but back in the day Hasbros were one of my favorites as I grew up w/them from their start. If I still had mine, I'd probably get the classic characters. Don't care about the new guys, but I appreciate that they exist anyway.
I felt similar to when the LJN-like figures came out, as those were my first wrestling toy growing up. I was out of buying current figures by the time they came around, but they were insanely cool to me.

I've been wanting to restart my Hasbro collection but am pretty involved with WWE Mattels. Now I get the best of both worlds. Like with old Hasbro line, I plan to collect them all and then some. I'll be posting some interesting tidbits sometime in February of what I have collected so far.

Definitely planning to go after the Undertaker and Warrior figures. So hoping that they make it to Australia otherwise I'll have to pay over the odds on ebay which would take some of the charm away.

I like them - very different from hasbros though - more articulation and they just look different, they could have been a lot more faithful with their reproduction
That said, I'll try and grab the old school wrestlers if I can here in uk.

They're absolutely fantastic. They fit in much better than I thought they would have, loose and MOC, and I can't wait for more. I feel they should cost less though, more like $7, but I'm being nitpicky.

I've been waiting too long for these. Dreaming of these. 20+ years in the making, you bet I'm gonna pick them up when they arrive in the UK. Unlike when I was a kid when I had to beg for my favourite 1 or 2 from the series, I can buy whatever I want now, and I'm gonna UNDERTAKE THEM ALL!

Some great feedback so far. A lot of nostalgia and good vibes.
I never thought I would be buying "new" figures again after reacquiring my whole loose hasbro collection that I sold as a child.

Look good but I would like to see 1 in my hand. I wouldn't spend too much on them. I'd like to see more retro guys, plus managers

my walmart still has the first 4. I snagged em and they're great. I do hope the waves come out faster and hope they make a ring too. I'll buy em all even guys I hate.

They look incredible and have got me excited about collecting again to go with my Hasbro collection! Roll on a UK release.
I will buy every figure that comes out!

I have seen them in stores. So far they look cool to me. I have collected wrestling figures from hasbro until now. But I really am only interested in hasbro figures that fit with my current hasbro collection. So guys from 96 and earlier. So the ones in this release don't much appeal to me.
I will surly be searching for Taker and Warior to add to my hasbro collection and any other hasbro eara appropriate guy.

I think they are really cool and if I see and Undertaker and Warrior I will get them. But at the same time I am not going out and hunting for them or paying over retail price for them. If I see them in the store then cool, but if not then as much as I like them I can live without them.

I'll definitely be picking these up, assuming they're available in the UK as I'm refuse to pay a scalpers price.

I do have a couple of reservations.
The warrior, as mentioned previously, is pretty much the same Warrior we got in 1990 - minus the jump feature. Of all the hundreds of different outfits Warrior wore, they picked the same one again? Slightly annoying, BUT, its the first series, I'm sure they're just giving us a glimpse of the potential. Having Warrior in that gear will give people a nostalgic feeling about the old hasbros. I get it.
The Undertaker's hat doesn't look to be removable. That was the most annoying thing about the original figure. So you'd think, with the benefit of hindsight, you'd make the hat removable. Even the Bushwackers got a removable hat.
Having said that they can still take all my money because I just want them on my shelf.
