Is there anyone who use to order from RSC w/ PPS but now just order your new figures inside a Defender Case? I'm wondering if you've noticed any issues in having them delivered inside the Defender Cases alone, or if you still pay for PPS to extra protection.

Just ordering with the defender case and not PPS doesn't guarantee it will be moc. I've ordered a few times just using the defender case, and I've received product with creases and bends to the card.

That's what I was concerned about. I want to start ordering with a Defender case, but I should probably keep ordering with PPS just to be sure.

I ordered with defender cases and they've come damaged. The cases were fine just the carding itself. RSC replaced the figures though.

I never had any issues with cards/boxes getting damaged just ordering their standard shipping. I have never asked for the PPS or figure defenders. Although I did order two DM figure defenders for my signed Sting figures.

For people that live across the country or outside of it shipping price is off-putting, even without tacking on PPS or defender cases. And dont start with promo codes save on shipping. You have to SPEND close to a hundred and twenty five dollars before "saving" anything on shipping.

The more people that come into contact with that package the more chance it has of getting damaged. A package from RSC to me depending on if I choose UPS or USPS Priority can have up to 8-12 people handling it. If it is UPS it will be handled by a minimum of 8 people once it leave RSC. The driver who picks it up. An unloader, a sorter and loader at RSC's local UPS hub. Then it arrives at my hub an another Unloader, Sorter, Loader as well as my driver handle it. That is overnight. And if it gets mis-sorted that is another hub and at least 3 more people. If it is with the USPS it is at least 11 people. As it goes through two US Postal facilities before it gets to my local PO. And any one of those people can mishandle it. (Kick it, throw it, step on it, crush it by putting it under a heavier box) I know for fact while I was at UPS we would have a belt jam at least once a shift where boxes would get crushed under the pressure of the packages in he jams. And the farther away you are the worse it is.

I'm just curious to see how my new order comes in having only gotten them packaged inside of defender cases and no PPS.

Just to clear up a few things...
If our warehouse staff notices an item packaging is clearly damaged, it will be put to the side and sold as damaged packaging. You will notice damaged packaging items pop up on our site all the time, that is why.
Here's the difference between PPS and the Figure Defenders:
Figure Defender: Will obviously provide extra layer of protection in transit. This does not include PPS service that is a very lengthy time consuming process that I will describe below.
PPS Service: Our warehouse staff will search through multiple cases to find the best most pristine 10/10 packaging that has as close to zero impurities as possible. The figure will be shipped in bubble wrap and receive extra padding. We will place fragile stickers on the box as well. Keep in mind due to the way that Mattel packs the cases leading to creases this can be a very lengthy process to find a truly 10/10 pristine mint figure as I'm sure you know if you search for these in stores. If you'll notice we don't make a big deal advertising PPS service because it is so time consuming searching with the way Mattel packs the cases. I've seen our warehouse staff spend 15-20 minutes looking through case after case for a single PPS figure that was 100% perfect without any imperfections.
If anything does happen to your figure during transit even if you don't have a Figure Defender or PPS we would be more than happy to exchange it for a new one.

That's really cool, and I don't mind paying extra for PPS for figures I plan to keep MOC. My only reason for bringing up this topic was to determine if the defender cases replace PPS in keeping the package of the figures in the best condition possible while shipping, but I didn't know PPS included combing through boxes looking for figures' boxes in the best shape. That's great to know, thanks for the info.

Why don't you add PPS service as an add on item online like the defender case? Having to email or call in after placing an online order is redundant. Not to mention if someone is at work and you decide to ship same day, at which point it's too late to add to the order (this has happened to me numerous times).

Never had an issue with the defender cases. Every Figure I've ordered with a defender case comes in great shape. Most recently Mr. NAKAMURA.
