So... Bran really has no social skills left, eh? So damn awkward haha. Not sure if you've ever read The Sandman comics but the Three Eyed Raven is exactly like Destiny of the Endless. Gaiman had multiple panels where he put Destiny in normal situations (like his sister hugging him) and he no sells it every time. Bran is all seeing. He now knows the future and is the keeper of the past and present. So he's not really Bran anymore, which probably sucks for people that were big fans of him, but it totally makes sense in terms of continuity. Just as long as we get to see him tell Jon who his real parents are I can live with it. Haven't read The Sandman, but I've seen a lot of people compare him to Dr. Manhattan from Watchmen, and thought that was a pretty great description, too. It'd also be pretty swell if he told Sansa and Jon that Littlefinger screwed Ned.

Tyrion's the man and all but he's getting clowned so hard, which is conflicting because while I hate seeing him suck at his job at least he's bringing Daenerys down with him.

How many people have had him by the throat and they just let him slither away. Littlefinger is almost single handedly responsible for all of the misery the Starks have been through since the start of the show. He was the catalyst for all of it. that guy.

I think that may have been the reason for Bran telling Sansa what he did - to remind her that he was the one responsible for what happened to her. Especially coming right after Littlefinger's speech.

They made Jon look weak in his meeting with Daenerys. Slumped and timid. This show is killing me. Eh, I don't think I agree with that. Jon's focus is on a war that is going to wipe the seven kingdoms from existence. I think he got the point across that he doesn't have time to squabble over who is sitting on a throne in kings landing. I felt this way through all of last season. We're getting to the heart of the show and we still have Cersei having a pissing contest with everyone she knows. From the audience's perspective, it's idiotic, and Jon has our same perspective because he knows the Night King is coming. I just think Jon gets the bigger picture and he doesn't give a damn about Dany other than to get what he came for, which was the Dragon Glass. So in that regard, I think she was the one doing all of the posturing but it was Jon who came out on top from their meeting. Sunday's episode was just 60 minutes of Khaleesi looking like a dummy imo.

I was so damn pissed when the credits came on...
Definitely best episode of the season, so far. Loved the stuff with Arya and Brienne. I really hope Littlefinger meets Needle soon, or Bran makes him go hold a door somewhere near White Walkers.
Argh, the season's already over halfway over.
EDIT: Oh, and while Bran's at it, he might want to zap who Jon's parents are into his mind (if he can) or send a raven, because if he waits to tell him in person, Jon and Dany are gonna start making their ancestors proud first.

Not only the best of the season imo, but one of the best ever. The cave drawings were telling. We saw that one scene last season with, presumably, the creation of the Night King, and I think it's great to get more origin to this feud. We know the Children of the Forest were feuding with man but then created a monster they couldn't control. Now the only way to stop said monster is to stop fighting with each other and start paying attention to the real enemy.
Whether it be through sexual tension or actual intelligence, Dany understands now, at least to a degree. Those scenes added with Bran serving up Littlefinger a nice dish of you don't know sh*t, Arya just being Arya, and that dragon/Drogon end sequence, made for a special episode. I also think it's fair to say that most people see Jaime as a hero, of sorts. I guess it's a matter of perspective. His only real fault has always been his love for his sister, but beyond that blindness, he always acts out of a will to do the right thing by other people. So I loved how they went off the air with him.
I can't believe this season only has 3 episodes left. To be fair though, the dragon scenes have looked movie quality. Getting the budget of a 10 episode season dumped into 7 episodes, at least to this point, is paying off for us visually, and in pacing imo. I think the preferring quality over quantity argument is incredibly strong so far.

During the battle scene I'm like "Not Jaime. Please let him get away unhurt." Who would've thought the guy who pushed Bran out of a window could end up being so loved by many?

I couldn't see Jaime dying, since they're pretty clearly building to a redemption arc for him against Cersei, but I thought Bronn was a ing goner. Pleasantly surprised that he seems to still be alive, and he got to shoot a dragon! Guessing that we see Tyrion convince Dany to have them yanked out of the water and taken prisoner next episode.

It was an exciting episode, but it wasn't written particularly well. There was far too much fan service and quasi-exposition. They don't trust the mass audience to pick up on queues, so they go out of their way to literally spell it out for you. ARIA IS A BADASS. LOOK AT HER FIGHT SHE'S REALLY GOOD. AND NOW HER SISTER KNOWS. We already knew that. And they didn't have to showcase it for her sister. There are better, more nuanced ways to write that revelation into the show. But no. Not this show.
That said, I love Jamie. I love that he saw his chance and took it. I am really rooting for him.

Something else that slipped my mind earlier: Jon finally seeing Reek again. That was so damn tense, and kind of flew in under the radar in the midst of all the chaos that followed it.

my initial reaction to this last episode?
FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKK.
Loved every bit of it. I really like Bronn & Jamie but if Bronn had killed Drogon? I was wishing serious slow death on him.
You can guess who says their final farewells next episode.
Bronn will no doubt rescue his meal ticket from a watery grave but will they actually escape Dany?

I don't think there is a chance in hell Drogon dies before some kind of final battle with the White Walkers. Dany is only formidable on the back of Drogon and the other two dragons will, presumably, have other riders. My assumption is that Jon rides Rhaegal into battle and Rhaegal will probably be the dragon to die. If we assume that Dany, Jon, and Tyrion are the riders, only one of those characters can really fight without the dragon. So if one of the dragons is dying this early, meaning prior to the White Walker battle, it seems like it'll be the one who serves their character the least. I hope all 3 make it past Cersei though, however unlikely that may seem with the amount of poison spears that will surely be flying their way.

Best case scenario. Who's sitting on the iron throne at the end of the series?

Best case scenario. Who's sitting on the iron throne at the end of the series? It's such a cluster right now. Believably, Cersei, Jon, Dany, Euron, Tyrion, Night King and Littlefinger/Sansa all could finish the series on top. Out of them, the best case would be Jon. He's the most fair. Night King only makes sense if everyone else is obliterated. I can't see Cersei making it to the end. If Jamie does not kill her I will literally lose my crap. Dany, Jon and Tyrion are all logical choices. Dany is a conqueror, Jon is a leader, and Tyrion is the manipulator Tywin only wishes he could have been. Euron would make sense if he does marry Cersei, Jamie kills her, he kills Jamie, and a Greyjoy is able to defeat Dany and Jon. That being said, he's not been around long enough to really bite into that theory. Littlefinger and Sansa are the most dangerous combination because Jon may be king of the North, but with Bran out of the running that leaves Sansa as the eldest LEGITIMATE Stark, especially when the north finds out Jon is not even Ned's bastard. That makes Littlefinger and her especially dangerous. North flies their banners for the Stark girl, her hand is Littlefinger (who you have to assume kills Robyn at some point). The foil to this is Arya. She doesn't want to rule, but she can certainly take the legs out from under Littlefinger's plans. Here's a wacadoodle one. I think there's a chance Lyanna walks away Queen. She banners for Jon, who could very well die. Arya doesn't want to lead so here's hoping Sansa and Littlefinger eat it. She's a Mormont who would have the respect of Dany and Tyrion should they die. As a Mormont, her uncle was one of the few Crows respected by the Wildlings, who are here to stay. She's a ruler in the North to offset the Southern domination. Her house is small, but so was Robert's before the rebellion, and House Mormont suffered the least amount of losses in the Battle of the Bastards. It's a wacky theory, but Martin has written weirder.

With all of that being said, I see the possibility being equal that Martin pulls a Sopranos and black screens us.
