Hey everybody. I'm a bit new to the forum but have been collecting for many years. Was just wondering why other people collect WWE figures. I collect for a few reasons, one is that I have a fed and love WWE and doing figure matches, and at the same time it's also an escape from the daily grind to just sit back and play with em. Also the detail Mattel puts into the figures is really solid and hard to ignore. Why do you all collect?

I collect because since I can remember I have loved wrestling. I mean my first wrestling figure was my Hulk Hogan LJN figure that I had probably at age 3. And ever since then I had wrestling figures. From LJN to playing with them to the LJN ring which I used until it cracked then had my grandpa pretty much rebuild it with wooden post and then at one point a wooden platform, to playing with the LJN on my couch in the living room for hours...Then moved to hasbro, as a kid I thought these were the end all of be all figures. Loving how each figure had a move, and compared to LJN such great detail. I will always remember my mom telling me when we were going away I could only bring a certain amount. Depending where we were going from bring 5-10, and somehow I would not pack a right amount of clothes to find a way to always bring every Hasbro figure I had in a bag. Then when Jakks made the move, I sort of got away a little. I didn't have many bone crushing figures. But when the real scan figures started coming out and the main reason that at that point if not all but 90% of my hasbro were out of date. So I started collecting again. I remember my first real scan figures were Rikishi and the Hardy Boyz. I was at a mall and walked by a KayBee toys and I said ok I'll stop in. When I walked in I saw them, and I was like I have to have these they are awesome. So that said Jakks figures. When they release the Classic Superstars line, I finally after all those years took the advice of everyone who would tell me why don't you keep them in the box. They will be worth more, and for that set I left them in the box. Still today I still have them in storage. Then when Jakks lose the rights to Mattel, I said ok maybe it is time to stop, after all being in my mid to late 20's at this point maybe it was time to stop. And then it happened. I'm a Long Island guy so when Mattel relase the Zack Ryder Elite with his Internet Belt. I had to have it. I remember telling my brother this is what I want for Christmas and he thought I was crazy. Well he got it for me because it was pretty much the only thing I was asking for. Then in that same set was the John Cena Rise Above Hate figure, and there was something about that time and shirt that I loved so I had to get that figure too. And since then I have been hooked on Mattel. And that is my story of why and when I collect WWF/WWE figures.

I started watching wrestling in 85 but I never liked or wanted the figures. I had just about every other toy. I stopped watching wrestling in 2000. I had kids eventually and when my son became old enough for his first action figure I randomly googled the one action figure I would want most...honky tonk man. I then bought that and dm Bret and rse Nwo macho man and by that time I was hooked. I still buy figures to fill in his collection but I can't resist to buy some to keep MOC too for myself.

I collect. Not just figures. I just collect everything. I collect figures of wwe, UFC, marvel, D.C., and movies. I also collect cds and movies as well. I enjoy customizing figures as well so that goes with my figure collecting hobby. I've always figured I could be spending. My extra money on drugs, smoking, or alcohol but this is a better outlet for my enjoyment.

I sold everything. Hasbro, and jakks. About 4 years went by, Then I found the elite series with Rick rude, irs and was blown away. Then I found sting, sid and bulldog, and at the time did not talk myself into buying them. But, once I came across macho man and warriors I just started buying up all legends I could find.
Right now I'm in the middle of selling my collection or holding onto them, knowing all I got to look forward to is beefcake and warlord, good figures but kind of sucks, as a collector. I heard rumors of quite a few great names, but then seeing nothing brought up about them and figures being replaced just brought me down even more.

Just a hobby for me. Keeps my mind off other stuff. I collect elites, all wwe DVDs and in the process of completing all the WWF wwe magazines.

Randy Orton is my idol so I collect his merchandise I'm a bit addicted to buying his merch anything RKO I'll buy I'm the only person is the world that thought the Randy Orton power slammer was cool I just love buying his merchandise tbh I feel annoyed when Ortons not been made in a new figure line like the zombies, mutants, 31 inch figures, turtle superstars etc, when I'm having a hard day I can sit in my Orton room and feel relaxed I don't know how to explain it tbh

I first bought Legends 1 Stone Cold but didn't have money like that to start a collection. Then I had stopped play the WWE games becuase I felt like the gameplay was just always the same thing. So I stopped buy them but so still enjoyed wrestling. I was pretty close in starting a collection of the old Hasbor figures. Then I went to Kmart and saw the Elite Wrestlemania Bret and Shawn figures. They looked great but I was hesitant about starting a figure collection (since I didn't continue buying Marvel Legends after ToyBiz). Then I went weeks later and saw an Elite Mark Henry and Sheamus.
