Because once a figure is on display I can look at I all of them and whenever I do I'm reminded of specific matches, fun and my childhood
Plus I have so many at this point it's easier to keep collecting than stopping and packing away lol

Someone told me it was a good tax write-off, so I started collecting long ago. Still waiting for that tax refund bump to show up...

I collect because it's a fun (yet sometimes frustrating) hobby. I also collect Star Wars Black Series & Funko POPs.

Because it's fun. I like to pose my figures and think up story lines. Helps activate my imagination and I like to see my display of figures on my shelf when I come home each day.

I was content with my younger cousin collecting the figs to play with until I saw that Paige had both the Diva's and NXT Women's Championship. She, however, wasn't my first figure. That accolade belongs to the Hall of Fame Trish Stratus figure with WWF Women's Championship. I got her while hunting for Paige and didn't expect to see Trish. The figures I get now are only because I either support said wrestlers, because I was a fan of the gimmick at the time, or I just like the design and accessories it comes with.

I actually don't even know anymore. I'm getting to the point where I just get a new figure, take the picture, put it on my laptop and put the figure up.
It's like just having it is enough. But I feel like that's an empty reaason. I kind of like having a "physical" memory of something related to wrestling, which is what most figures are....but I don't know why I have so many

Since I collect mostly just the wrestlers from the 80s-early/mid 2000's; I guess maybe because it reminds of a time when wrestling was awesome and actually fun to watch. Also, there were so many charismatic wrestlers back then with great characters and awesome attire that it makes those figures stick out more. I literally buy it, open it, look at it in my hands for like a minute, and then put it in my Detolf. But there's just something about having it and being able to display it in my case that I enjoy. Sometimes I just walk by my Detolfs and just get stuck standing there looking over my collection.
I don't think it's anything more deep than it's just something I enjoy. Collecting something can be fun if you are really into it. And sometimes just standing in front of your collection in awe of all of the figures you own is enough for some folks; and I'm one of them. I also like to be able to display my figures broken down into the different eras (Hogan era, New Generation era, Attitude Era, RA era). Honestly, it's just fun.

I've been collecting since I was a child. I had gotten my first few figures before I could even walk. I collect because I see every figure as a work of art. Some people display painting, posters, I collect figures.

I like having representations of my favorite things. So I collect wrestling figures, Marvel Legends, Star Wars villains, assorted Batman stuff, video game figures, etc. I like displaying thing (maybe I played too much a animal crossing as kid), but I've never been into posters. Figures are a more fun alternative.
I collect blu rays as well and I usually watch the digital version of the film that comes included, while the blu ray merely sits. I just like physical collecting to some degree. It's cooler to me than stamps or coins, which are fine too if you're into that.

It is definitely harder to explain than collecting music, books, comics, or movies. Those are intellectually consumable products. As a kid I played with toys. As an adult I very loosely do so. I pose them. I stare at them. Sometimes I make them move or do a finisher. That's about it. So here is this non-functional thing on my shelf taking up room and occupying my brain space and I have a much harder time explaining it.
So.......I guess I do because I do.

It makes me nostalgic for when I was a kid and collected wrestling figures. Back then I played with them, but now I just pose them (shameless plug: check out my blog and Facebook page below). I also like how much more realistic the figures are these days compared to when I was a kid.

I also like how much more realistic the figures are these days compared to when I was a kid. I wonder if adults in the early 90's (when I was still young) talked about, say, the Toybiz X-men line with crap like sparking Magneto and Wolverine with his removable mask that became a ring like we talk about X-men Marvel Legends these days. Because it is hard to believe now that people got excited about those old lines.
