While speaking to the WWE website, Big Show mentioned that he believes Shaquille O'Neal is trying to back out of their rumored WrestleMania 33 match in Orlando this year:
“I mean, here’s the thing. We shot this off at the ESPY Awards, Shaq said he’s in, I thought this would be a good match for fans to see two giants go at it. And I see Shaq riding around, singing karaoke and stopping in at Krispy Kreme. I’m like, 'Hey! If you’re not gonna take it serious, find something else to do!' I’ve given 22 years of my blood, sweat and tears to this business and I’m doing this favor to Shaq. This could be my last WrestleMania. He needs to step up. I’m not trying to be mean, but my time’s valuable. I get it. I don’t have foot powder commercials, car commercials, insurance commercials. I get it. He’s a busy man. But if he’s gonna step in the ring, in my business, at our biggest event of the year? Show me you’re serious. If anything, talk a little trash. Let me know you’re motivated. Because right now? I just get the feeling he’s terrified. He shot his mouth off, he’s in over his head and he’s trying to back out. So just let me know what’s going on, brother.”
To be honest I'd rather see Bruan against big show with a stipulation

Seems like this is the start to the "feud," if you can even really call it that. No coincidence that this interview was on WWE.com. I think this is purely kayfabe.

After RAW on Monday, I wish they had saved Show vs Strowman at WM. I'd much rather see that than see WWE cater to another celebrity.

Who actually wants to see this match? Then again Mania does need a piss break.

WWE should have saved Big Show versus Braun Strowman for WrestleMania, as a passing of the torch.

The match never needed to happen. Big Show hasn't meant anything in years. If WWE has or had a hunch that Shaq was backing out, they should have just held onto Strowman/Show.

I would gladly take another Show/Strowman match over a Show/Shaq match.

The Andre Battle Royal should be like WM2 and have athletes. Build Show vs Shaq within that match like they did Perry vs Studd.

Even if he'd been training for the match it would still be garbage.

I still don't get how this matchup even became a thing. I know they interacted with one another in the past on Raw, but did this sudden "feud" emerge randomly over social media?
I'm honestly far more interested in Shaq's beef with Javale McGee.

Big Show of all people should know how delicious Krispy Kreme is. Trash talk Shaq all you want but let's set some boundaries, we aren't animals.

That just sounds like the beginning of their feud, if this was on raw, I'd expect Shaq to appear next week.
I do agree with people though Show vs Strowman would have been great at WrestleMania

It's like ex-smokers getting preachy towards people that still smoke. I believe Show's point is that Shaq definitely doesn't look like he's training for something physical in the near future. Shaq's a commentator now, so I don't fault him for not being in the same shape as his playing days, but he doesn't look like he's 30 days away from a mock combat display.

What Big Show doesn't realize is that Shaq does part-time better than other men do full time. Shaq is currently developing a sequel to Kazaam, eating at Golden Coral and thinking about new moves to incorporate into the upcoming installment of Shaq Fu, all the while feeling incredibly relaxed and refreshed because he's powdered in Gold Bond. Why? Well...

Show is probably worried in case he gets left off the Mania card or gets thrown into the battle royal. Shaq would guarantee him a match.
