How'd I know this thread would be pages full of CMShowstopper defending how it's all okay and not "stalking".
Yes, waiting for someone at their car with them not having agreed to it is STALKING. The fact that anyone doesn't see that as such is rather disturbing.

I used to work at a nightclub where famous DJs would come and play their sets. One night Tommy Lee performed, and I stood about 10 feet away from him and wondered how I would approach him in asking for a photo op. It was in that moment that I realized that my life had nothing to gain from any of it, and any acknowledgement of his celebrity would only serve his ego. This is exactly the same. If a wrestler does not enjoy fanfare, and they are content traveling city to city and beating themselves up with absolutely no fanfare, let it be.

Who gives a f*** about autographs anyway? A picture I understand but an autograph is possibly the lamest most impersonal thing ever as far as keepsakes go. Agreed. I'd rather have one picture than a million autographs. I'll never for the life of me understand people who pay ridiculous money for autographed memorabilia without actually meeting the person. The true experience for me has always been the actual encounter and interaction, not just having some questionable signature that could've been signed by God knows who.

The need to have threats involved IS the part that varies. It's not at all the core portion. The core portion is the following and watching part. I absolutely would call the paparazzi stalkers. It's just that they're protected by it being a legitimate job. I'm sorry, but you are wrong. The threat part IS the core, b/c that is what MAKES it illegal. Forget celebs for a minute. Lets take a man and a woman as an example. If you send flowers or write love notes or wait for a girl at her car after work every day...is that stalking? No. Its weird. Its creepy. Its a lot of things, but it is not stalking. There has to be an intent to instill fear or an intent to do harm, paired with the above actions to make it stalking. Anyone can watch and follow someone. Its neither illegal nor stalking. No, I am not wrong at all. You may only be right if you're limiting it purely to the American definition. But the American definition is most certainly not the definitive definition. Like I said before, different countries have different definitions, and the use of a threat IS the differentiating factor. Some countries may require it to be classed as stalking, whereas other countries do not. Simply repeatedly following or monitoring someone to the point of them feeling threatened is enough to be classed as stalking in some countries. It's not the actual threat that makes it stalking, it's the victim FEELING threatened. If they're given cause to feel threatened, then it absolutely is legally stalking. In fact, researching the US definition, the National Institute of Justice actually states that stalking is legally defined as: "a course of conduct directed at a specific person that involves repeated (two or more occasions) visual or physical proximity, nonconsensual communication, or verbal, written, or implied threats, or a combination thereof, that would cause a reasonable person fear. "As a non-American, I don't know exactly how much weight that carries in US law, but assuming that is the American definition, the use of a threat is not actually required for it to be stalking. Again, it's the person FEELING threatened, as a result of actions stated in the above quote. Notice how the use of a threat is an "OR" option, not a requirement. For example, in the UK, simply loitering in any place while watching or spying on another person, or monitoring them on the internet is legally classed as stalking. As I am British, that is the definition that I use. You use your US definition, and I'll use my UK definition. I'm done with this discussion.

Eh, I've met Rollins multiple times between ROH and FCW and he's always been awesome. I actually bumped into him at a Bears game in Jacksonville and we talked about me meeting him the night he won the tag titles with Richie Steamboat in FCW because we ended up chatting for like 20 minutes that day about football and baseball. So I have to think something happened here where someone was disrespectful towards him or it was an eBayer with just a bunch of sh*t and he lashed out on Twitter.
I think this stuff is going to happen. It's not my bag to go wait at baggage claim and I've never done it but it's an easy thing to figure out for fans in most places when WWE comes to town. So I just think respect should flow both ways in those situations. This might include "sorry, not today, bud." Like that's going to happen. I'd love to think that every fan who bumped into someone they enjoyed would get an autograph or picture, but it doesn't work out that way. Sometimes fans don't know how to act, and sometimes celebrities are just dicks and not built for that side of the fame.
I think you guys make way too big of a deal out of what CM does. He's met all kinds of people and from all accounts he's respectful as hell about it. He also does the leg work of figuring out certain stuff to go to where people are going to be. I don't mean that in a creepy way but I know there was a whole deal with Austin at a beer show and I remember one of his Rock meets was at a movie shoot where there were tons of fans crowded around and not just him. I get that there are limits to all of this stuff, but I feel like most of you don't even know what you're talking about. I spent 3 years working in pro hockey directly with the players and I've been around MLB Spring Training for going on a decade now and 9 out of 10 graphers are just nice super fans who like collecting autographs or meeting their favorite athletes. The other guy is usually the eBay guy.

Is totally normal right? I'm sure wwe guys never have to deal with this at all. There's a cameo from a board member here.

One is to flip it for profit, or to get the "high" of a score. They don't really care all that much about meeting the person or the autpgraph really, it's all about their hobby and getting a score, and then on to the next one. Getting more and more to increase their collection to look good, and then try to get someone more famous. For christs Burt Reynolds can barely stand these days, but hey lets all mob him for a selfie and an autograph after we researched for hours online to find out where he is going to be at the time.

The poor guy can barely walk to his car and people have the nerve to hound him for a picture/autograph? I'd love to see how horrible that photo came out. Burt looked miserable.

I do find it ironic that him taking the selfie with Burt (It's obvious he didn't ask for permission, and entered his personal space without permission to take a picture of him) is no different than ARE YOU RECORDING THIS. A situation when the same person got threatening because someone took recorded this. Hypocrite.

I. LOVE. THIS. THREAD.
Solely for the videos of these scumbags being denied. That Paige video almost made my day... but why keep signing the same 8x10, if there's an issue with selling them?
Is it hard to sign one and walk away? Then when the guy is all "Hey. What about the other 42 that I have in this binder?" Just be, like, "Nope." Hahaha

You would be surprised with how many people use their kids as bait. Oh can you sign this for my kid right here. Boom eBay I know a girl who used her 2 month old baby to get pics at the airport a few years ago, absolutely shameless. Using a Baby is the ultimate distraction/diversion to get people's attention

Look, I hate the hotel, airport thing. But i'm gonna defend showstopper on one thing. on the are you recording this video. The man behind that video is a severely mentally ill human being. A whole lot of crap went down and showstopper was threatened as was his friend. His friend had white powder mailed to him at his job by the person who recorded this. And he did multiple other just awful things. Are you recording this should be irrelevent to the conversations because we would have all thrown the same fit, had we known the backstory.
