“I can tell you this, working everywhere else, WWE is the first time where somebody has stopped me as I am going through the drive-thru to get my autograph and wanted to take a picture with me where I am still in the car, and that happened last night. They literally followed me to the drive-thru, which isn’t a bad thing. At some point, I am going to have to put out a book to fans and explain the reasons why where I see certain things being unacceptable and then there is a time and a place to get your autographs and a way to say it so women and men that wrestle for WWE will be more polite. There needs to be a manual on when to get an autograph and how to do it and when to do it. A lot of people don’t know what they have gone through to get to the venue all day. They could have been flying all night long to get there and then they bombard you without saying please or thank you—don’t get me wrong, I am very thankful for the fans because they make sure I still have a job, wish I can be nicer and more polite, but it works both ways.”

The need to have threats involved IS the part that varies. It's not at all the core portion. The core portion is the following and watching part. I absolutely would call the paparazzi stalkers. It's just that they're protected by it being a legitimate job. I'm sorry, but you are wrong. The threat part IS the core, b/c that is what MAKES it illegal. Forget celebs for a minute. Lets take a man and a woman as an example. If you send flowers or write love notes or wait for a girl at her car after work every day...is that stalking? No. Its weird. Its creepy. Its a lot of things, but it is not stalking. There has to be an intent to instill fear or an intent to do harm, paired with the above actions to make it stalking. Anyone can watch and follow someone. Its neither illegal nor stalking. I do appreciate the fact that you did answer the paparazzi question. Paparazzi are the lowest of the low and take stalking to an all new level. They follow celebs down the street, burst into resturants they're eating in and basically push celebs to breaking point. A One Direction singer got arrested on Saturday because one started harrassing him and his girlfriend at an airport. They are stalkers that are protected and the celebs can do nothing about it which makes me sick. Legitimate is an opinion. The paparazzi are protected by the same laws fans are. Celebs choose this lifestyle. You have to take the good with the bad. There is a draw back to fame and money. I'd also like to point out that Chris Jericho used to meet wrestlers at the hotel when he was younger, he says so in his first book. As did many others who are now famous in the business. Yes he does. CM Punk has a famous pic that has been used on WWE videos before with him and Stone Cold Steve Austin at Austin's hotel after a show when Punk was in high school. So if you follow someone to their house and watch them shower through a window, it's totally legal? Yeah, I can see why you tried to beat someone up over a shirt, you ing freak.

Bubba Ray Dudley shops at the grocery store I work in, I never bother him. Just let him shop and do his business. So weird seeing him in there though

I guess it depends on where you are standing. If you are on private property, its not legal. Its not stalking either though. Exactly. And that family of 8 with 1 kid in a wheel chair, didnt even say one bad word to me.

It's far from from a "cut and dry" situation because what is "stalking" in (x) state may differ from (x) state. So.. trying to argue legal vs. illegal / stalking vs. not stalking is pretty pointless unless you're going to start doing a breakdown of each state.

You are correct, there are some differences. But there is also a core definition for stalking. Being on a public street and staring at someone who is showering through their open window is not stalking though, but may still be illegal.

I don't care for autographs, a photo is more than enough for me.
There is an etiquette though that a lot of people don't abide by. If the person you're wanting a photo from is eating, talking with others or have headphones on, leave them alone. I ended up meeting most of Iron Maiden last year. Nicko McBrain was a few meters away from me but because he was talking with someone else I didn't bother him. If they're at the airport, leave them be. They've just got off a long flight and were most likely on another long flight a day or two before. Wrestlers should have a one signature per fan policy to prevent or at least minimise people putting their stuff on eBay.
That being said though, most people should have the where with all to look at said wrestler and decide whether or not they look like they're in the mood to be asked for an autograph or photo. Also, turning down your photo or autograph doesn't make them dicks, it makes them human.

This is definitely the dumbest thread that I've ever read.
Not saying it wasn't fun to read though lol

I never post here anymore, but I still lurk from time to time.
Anyhow, I just wanted to throw in my two cents. Don't be "that guy", with anyone that has a level of fame.
Quick story, January 27th WWE did there first live show in my city. I bought ringside tickets. Day of the show, I have to work. I am the assistant manager of a Dollar General - I'm staying late that day, it's around 4:30pm. I turn the corner, and see Gallows. I'm stunned. He notices me, I guess noticing that I've recognized him. He nods he head and I approach him. As we shake hands I tell him it's unreal he is in MY store. Then he tells me Anderson and Show are as well. I ask him if he thinks it'd be okay if I say hello. Tells me he thinks they won't mind at all. I tell him I've been a life long fan, and just sincerely want to say thank you for the entertainment, and for putting his body through what he must endure. He tells me that he appreciates the nice words, and he thanks me for being a fan. I tell him to have a safe night, and safe travels. I meet Anderson next, conversation goes much the same. Then I meet the massive guy, Big Show. Same deal, except Show asked me where we have our towels. I sold him said towels. On the way out, Gallows thanked me for being cool, and told me they try to avoid larger stores on the road (for being recognized left and right).
They were all very cool and polite, especially Gallows. At the event, when Show came out I yelled, "I SOLD YOU TOWELS!"
Everyone I told asked me if I got pictures with them. No. Because I don't want to be "that guy". If it's a signing, or a meet and greet, sure. But not when they're just trying to be normal people.

I admit I was sleeping on this. Since I'm not one to worry about autographs, I didn't pay much attention. My bad. For the record, I didn't lock this, so whomever did is probably mad at me.
