Last night I watched the latest episode of Ride Along. The one with Zayn, Neville, Rollins, and Cesaro. This one was kind of special for me because it started off like 10 minutes from my house. Also the building they left from is the building where I went to my first WWE show back in 2008. (I've been a WWE fan since 1990 but I hadn't been able to go to a show until 2008).
It was a little surreal seeing some of the road toward the beginning of the episode and thinking "I drive on this road just about every day." I've also made that drive to Philly. It takes a bit out of you.
I particularly laughed when Zayn made them miss an exit. First time I made that drive, I missed an exit and ended up in Camden, NJ. I thought I was going to be murdered. It was like 3 in the afternoon and people were just sitting on their front stoops drinking. There was a guy getting arrested on the sidewalk. At the time I was driving a Mercedes. I was so nervous when I was stopped at a red light and people were just staring at me from their stoops.
Anyone else see episodes of Ride Along they have these kinds of connections?

Yup. I've driven on those same roads as well. Camden sounds rough! Glad I've never been there before.

I missed that same exit and ended up in Camden in the middle afternoon. I know exactly what you are talking about. Back in the day, before GPS was popular, I actually rolled my window down trying to get directions. The looks I got...woah. I started cursing at them like they were stupid. That didnt go over so well. We had to speed out of there. A couple of years later, a friend of mine called me. He was in town for a wrestling show and was walking around. At some point, some dudes started to follow him. He wouldnt let me hang up cuz he wanted me to know "exactly where his body would be for a proper burial". LOL!!! I still cant stop laughing about that one. He kept telling me cross streets and what was around him.

A coworker once told me she was watching like some news piece about how Camden is pretty much considered "a forgotten city". Like police barely even want to go there. I also remember hearing a few years ago that Van Halen was doing a show there. Someone in the crowd threw a beer bottle at David Lee Roth and the rest of the show was called off.

I've heard the forgotten city thing as well. I think at the last census, it was the murder capital of the U.S. I might be wrong. But its like anarchy rules there.

I live a few miles from Camden in Blackwood. Camden was the Murder Capital for a while but I believe Detroit dethroned it. Camden is a horrible area. The whole city isn't bad but 90% of it is. The Waterfront (BB&T Pavillion, formerly know as the Tweeter Center and Susquehanna Bank Center, The Aquarium and the are around the colleges) aren't bad at all. Take a few blocks either way out of that area and you're asking for trouble. The states trying to build it back up but in all honesty theres no where for the "hood" section to go without making another area Camden 2.0. I work occasionally in Camden doing heating and cooling. It sucks and you dread it but Ive come out unscathed every time.

It takes but just a few blocks and you are in a whole nother world.
