The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that WWE officials already have a match planned for the main event of WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans: Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Title.
They note that that does not mean that WWE’s plans for next year include Roman Reigns beating Undertaker at WrestleMania or that Brock Lesnar will hold the title for a full year.
According to the report the goal is still very much to make Reigns the next “John Cena” of the company. WWE is once again looking at building Reigns up for a whole year for a coronation at WrestleMania 34.
The idea between now and then is for Reigns to replace Cena as the new face of the company. Not just when he wins the title.
In regards to Lesnar the current plan is for him to work more dates in what will be the final year of his three-year WWE deal. It is believed that Lesnar will never work a full-time schedule but he will work more shows over the next year, live events and TV tapings.

I personally hope they do it asap. We all know it's coming. Let's just get it over with. I'm not interested in a year long Brock title reign and him plowing through the whole roster. I don't want it dragged to Summerslam either. Next Raw ppv, whatever it is (Extreme Rules?) would be ideal. But I presume Brock will squash Owens first since he's owed a rematch.

Reigns was always the guy to beat Lesnar. Vince is gonna fulfill his original plan from WM31 one way or another.
I just don't care to sit through another Brock reign.

Honesty they might as well just ing do it this year. Have Roman, who pinned Taker clean earlier that night, come out after Brock beats Goldberg quickly, and challenge Brock. Roman wins and beats both Brock and Taker in one night at Wrestlemania They should just do it. They'll see what happens

They want Reigns to replace Cena.
But what they don't understand is that, REIGNS IS NOT CENA. He'll never be the draw that Cena is, not even close. They've tried to put him in that spot soooo many times and he is obviously not the guy to do that. Nobody, nobody, nobody, nobody wants to see Lesnar vs Reigns.

Nobody wants the "Next Cena." Instead of one mega star that is booked like God, I'd rather see 10-15 guys that are showing real personality and entertaining, in the main event.
Put it simply, I'd rather have 10 quality matches and feuds than 1 predictable one.

What a coincidence that as soon as JR says it, the Observer reports it............i honestly hope this doesn't happen, IF it's true since i plan on going to this. If it's a stipulation match like No Holds Barred or something (the match Reigns and HHH should have had last year), the match should be good. We'll just have to wait and see

the wwe is a kid oriented product in it's current state. roman reigns is a kid oriented character. this ain't gonna stop any time soon.
the wwe stopped caring about it's hardcore fans a long, long time ago. it's up to the individual fans to recognize this and find their source of wrestling entertainment elsewhere.
the best thing we could all do is to find a new product to focus on, sad as that is. hence why for the last 5 years i've become more interested in international wrestling and wrestling from the past - and guess what? there's tons of it and it's amazing stuff. never looked back. so other than wwe ppvs which i do not pay for, i don't support the wwe outside of a few local house show tickets a year which i'll probably be ceasing as well. if i hear that a great match shook down i always check that out though, and i feel bad for the talent at wwe (they have some of the best in the world undoubtedly) not being fully utilized due to slack creative.

How has WWE stopped caring about its hardcore fans if they have signed Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Seth Rollins, Austin Aries, Samoa Joe, Dean Ambrose, etc. All in just less than a decade?

Vince has been high on Reigns for awhile now so this isn't shocking in the slightest.

For everyone who hates Reigns and want to see him fail this is what you need to do. If you attend a live event, do not boo him. Vince does not care if you boo. Booing is taken as a positive and not a negative. He feels if Roman is getting a reaction from you then he is doing his job. Silence is what will kill Reigns' push. Sit on your hands and give no reaction anytime Reigns is featured.
