Hey guys and gals.
I played some of WWE 16... I actually own it on download from Games with Gold, but had rented it prior to that and do enjoy it a bit. Currently, my thumb stick is a little junked up until I can buy a newer controller (preferably a real Microsoft one, but I'm broke so I'm trying to use the Day One piece of crap with the strafing issue until I can't deal anymore...) but WWE 16 plays OK anyway. Can be a little hard for some stuff, but eh I can manage most of the time.
Anyway, I mainly play and only play the Stone Cold career mode thing, which I am terrible at but do enjoy once in a blue moon giving a shot at (on 16). I only have '17 for Games w/ Gold 'til Monday, just the full trial for free, that is. I may rent or buy it down the road, but with little time to play and not much time per day, what mode(s) do you suggest I try if I want to just enjoy it for a bit, say, 2 hours a day over the weekend (tops)?
I don't want to waste time and start something if I definitely won't have time to get into the good spots. I know little or nothing about the game.
What are the improvements to WWE 16, as well? I didn't mind 16 but controls were a bit boring. I didn't play a lot of it beyond the SCSA mode though I must admit. Online I was terrible and this before my stick strafed terribly.
Thanks in advance!

Universe mode is really the only thing WWE 2K17 has going for it in the long-term.
My Career mode is fun for the first few hours, but after that it quickly descends into being incredibly tedious and repetitive.
The Hall of Fame showcase DLC only lasts for an hour or two, it's very short.
As to changes made, the menus are revamped for 2K17. In Universe mode after starting a show, you have to go through the match card in order, you can't pick and choose anymore.
Taunts have a whole new system. Wake-up taunts are back, and you can do either Crowd Taunts or Opponent Taunts. Rather than choosing to do either Up, Down, Left or Right to do different taunts, now you go Left for Crowd Taunts and Right for Opponent Taunts. Each has 3 possible options, which are picked at random from the 3 choices in that wrestlers' moveset. If you successfully pull off a Crowd Taunt without interruption, you get a buff that increases your momentum gain for a short period of time. If you do an Opponent taunt, you get a buff to increase damage dealt for a short period of time.
If you do a Major Reversal, your opponent gets a debuff that stops them from being able to reverse for a short period of time. If your opponent does a Major Reversal on you, you get a debuff that prevents you from reversing for a short period of time. If you successfully taunt while having the debuff, it gets cancelled out.
