People whine so much about everything that doesnt do exactly their way. Its become extremely annoying. Just shut up and watch. Its something new that nobody expected. This could turn out to be a good thing.

Remember when Sheamus debuted on Raw and instantly got a title shot even though he was pretty much a WWECW jobber and we were all like "LOL well he's never gonna win it".
Oh man. What if Jinder wins?

Probably WWE trying to increase their market in India. Well at least that's the only logical reason I can think of

Not saying Jinder should never get a shot. He's solid in the ring and actually puts effort in.
The problem is that he had almost no momentum going into it. They should have gotten a few wins under his belt before getting this shot.
Also, this could just be a short run where Jinder will get squashed.
Personally, I think lower card guys could get good pushes like they did in the past. Stars always fighting stars kinda ruins things. On TV, main eventers should be beating upper midcarders. Upper midcarders getting featured should be beating lower midcarders and jobbers. Lower midcarders getting featured should be squashing jobbers. It's a way to get lower card guys featured and built up. They're either beating someone or getting tv time.
A few weeks ago I was watching an old RAW from 1994. Shawn Michaels was in a match against some jobber. It was like a 7 minute competitive match where HBK got like 40% of the offense. Yet HBK came out of it looking like an absolute star.

I like Jinder, i think he is an underrated talent.
If and i mean a big IF! if he does win then he will be the first India born WWE champion. Now before you say "Great Khali was champion". He was World Heavyweight Champion, he was never WWE Champion. So Jinder winning will help build a bigger market in India, and make a little history
But thats IF!!! he wins.
I honestly think this is just a filler match until they build a better feud for randy. (cough, cough, Baron Corbin, cough, cough)

People cry that the WWE isn't pushing new main eventers, once they start to, people cry because it's not who they want. Sorry. Dean Ambrose can't main event everything. I agree with this except for the Dean Ambrose part, since I'm in indifferent on that front. This is the only way to make new stars...or to create characters who can get a star over. This is just a TV program, it's not an actual sport. In 2004 when they split JBL from Farrooq and made him a main eventer I would have never expected he'd go on to become one of the best heels in the company's history. They did the same thing in 2010 with Sheamus winning the belt and it honestly worked until they made Sheamus a face. Sometimes you just gotta push a heel to the moon right away without having him beat a bunch of jobbers and mid-carders for months to gain momentum. But to answer the question, this concept really only works for guys they want to be heels. You can't shock push a face jobber unless they already have an established fan following like Zach Ryder...and even so shock pushing a face always seems like an underdog story rather than just a guy finally getting an opportunity.

I don't mind. It's something different. Jinder is actually decent in ring too. I think the longer match he had at Fastlane was a test to see how he could do on ppv with time. That match was fine. Lacked heat for being randomly added and nobody caring, but it was a solid match

Ok, I like having different stars in the mix of the world title scene but Jinder Mahal is just an odd choice, when you have heels like Baron Corbin or Dolph Ziggler on the roster who have secured themselves as upper-midcarders then i'm fine with it but Jinder Mahal went from alright pretty-much-a-jobber heel to being in the main event, I just don't buy it. I would rather him have a US or IC title run first to build him up. I guess the main reason for me is that 2 weeks ago he was a lower midcarder / upper jobber (if thats a thing lol)

This could turn out to be a good thing. I would agree with you to a certain extent- I like Reigns' in ring work and his feuds with AJ, Seth and the Wyatts last year which for some reason people bitched about. I still love the New Day and find them funny- again most people moan about them now and want them to split up which makes no sense. I also really enjoyed WM32 last year which others again complained about and I liked whine about Braun Strowman when he debuted like many people did without giving him a chance. However, Jinder in the world title scene is something i'm not a fan of, I mean come on, he has been on SD for 2 weeks and was a jobber previously to that, it just makes no sense to me.

Sheamus was handled better, he came on and kicked the **** out of Cena, put people through tables and it made him look like a big threat- a bit like how they brought in Strowman i suppose. Jinder has gone from jobber to main eventer in 2 weeks, so its a bit different.

The problem with wrestling today is every fan swears they're a professional booker instead of knowing their role...

I don't mind. It's unpredictable and that is not a bad thing. Who here woke up Tuesday morning thinking, "this is the day Jinder becomes #1 contender for the WWE title"? Jinder did!

Making Jinder the #1 contender was genius. Jinder, the HEEL in this storyline was getting near Roman level heat. That's extremely rare as a heel in today's WWE.

Jinder as hotshotted #1 contender is great in theory... but it seems weird to do before the Orton-Wyatt match has even happened. And Orton isn't an interesting enough champion to elevate Jinder to a solid main event feud in my opinion, but hopefully I'll be wrong.

I see the Dont Hinder Jinder train has derailed on here. Its always at the hands of the internet darlings.
I'll say this. Jinder looks like a main eventer. He looks like a star. His match with Finn was great. That was the first time I had ever thought "I want more" of Jinder. Outside of that, he has no real character. But, his character could come out as a guy who has always been under used and over voming that with anger. He can be a solid heel, and he looks like a million bucks. I don't however, want to see him become a Middle Eastern gimmick. Hassan was and always will be my go to for that.
I am on the JinderTrain, and if the next stop is a world title, well toot toot!! Its about time everyonr ownes up to what they have been begging for. You wanted new talent? You wanted home grown talent? You wanted new full time stars and less part timer legends? Here it is.Embrace change. Embrace Jinder.

I've missed an episode or 2 of Smackdown, but I thought Styles pinned Zayn to become #1 contender?
