Rule number 1 in fast food.... IT!!! HAVE FUN!!!! This is the hardest thing to do because you will deal with all kinds of -holery. If you can manage to have more fun than not, you'll make it as you progress through school/college etc. Rule 2 Even if you hate your job, don't act like it. A positive attitude will take you much further than you can imagine. Matter of fact, I've made it a point to say "phenomenal" when asked 'how's it going?' Typically I get asked that question a number of times per day so when I make a point to use more positive words than "ok" or "good" it can actually make a difference in how I think the day is going.

I say that job, learn a trade or go to school. In the mean time eat all the jalapreño poppers, and save money.

Find the biggest guy there, walk up to him, and knock him out. Show your dominance and that you're not gonna take crap from anyone. Oh wait, that's prison. Sorry, got nothing for Arby's.

So yesterday was the first day of my 4th week at Arby's. It would be better if my feet and back didn't hurt during and after. I'm a big guy, though, so that may not help.

I remember my ankles were throbbing after every shift of my first job. It's just because your not used to being on your feet for 8 hours. Funny enough, my current job I'm in a cubicle and the first couple of weeks I was sore from being stiff from sitting 8 hours a day. So I guess every job has adjusting.

Good news! The store manager at an Advance Auto Parts promised me that the next salesperson he'll hire is me (I had 2 interviews there before I even got this job at Arby's).

I worked Wendy's for four years before imploding and throwing a tantrum. Don't take it as seriously as I did. Not unless you're making lots of money. Me, I was just barely above minimum wage and trying to be a shift supervisor and it wasn't working. Take pride in your work but don't take it personally. I had too many people give me grief that week and I snapped and threw my headset, yelled and tossed my hat on the ground. I was in my car in seconds and peeled out. I waited to get my check when the one manager that liked me was there. It was still awkward. I would avoid rage-quitting at all costs even if it sucks your soul to put a two weeks notice.

My dad has worked at a Wendy's since 1993.

Good luck bro, my first job was a pot washing job at a nursing home. Crazy to think that was almost 15 years ago.

If you have common sense, you're already ahead of 99.9% of fast food workers. Good luck
