Hey guys! I used to be much, much, much more active on here, but nowadays I probably get on here about once ever 2 years. With that said, for those of you that know me, hope you've been doing well! And for those that don't, nice to meet you!
Any who, I finally thought of a topic I think it'd be interesting to get other's input on. As most already know, TJ Dillashaw has been in a war of words for over a year now with Team Alpha Male, namely Cody Garbrandt and Urijah Faber, which has led to that being the topic of this season's Ultimate Fighter. I won't waste everyone's time with a paragraph, but if you're still not completely sure of the story between TJ and Team Alpha Male, read a couple articles and watch a bit of Youtube and you will be caught up quite quickly. It essentially comes down to Team Alpha Male, TJ Dillashaw, and Duane Ludwig.
So my question is, who do you think has essentially been the biggest "loser" in this whole ordeal in regards to their actions since this all started?

...it's a tough one really, as both guys ( well, Faber/Garbrandt and Dillashaw) have different versions of what happened - Dillashaw says he started training with Duane Ludwig and Faber gave him an ultimatum to choose to be with Ludwig or remain on Team Alpha Male. Faber says that he never gave him any ultimatum and Dillashaw just abandoned TAM. So who knows? Maybe the guys themselves all have their wires crossed, so both think their version of events is the truth. I don't think there are any particular "losers" in the whole thing - just broken trust/friendships... which is kind of sad.

This is a question on mentality if you ask me. Gang vs Great. To be clear I am a HUGE UFC fan however I am NOT a fan of ether or any of these guys. But I have to side with T.J. Fighting is a sport of individuals helping each other train to compete individually. Alpha Male seems to have a gang mentality with ideas that as a whole they can be on top but truth be told only one is Champ. They can fight at different weights but now fighters are changing weight to avoid each other. You train in a gym with a team once that team teaches all that they teach you train in another gym with another team and so on. Many fighters forget this when they get to top levels but 9 out of 10 of them changed gyms and teams many times on the way to the top. It's hard to compete and teach at high levels at the same time TJ is still competing he still needs to learn. I hope Cody gets BEAT UP for 2 and knocked out in the 3rd end fight.

I 100% agree that UFC is an individual sport. Once the cage shuts, its all on you. However, I completely disagree with your idea of not being able to be great if you arent on your own and away from the "gang". MMA has changed...A LOT. The team mentality though has nothing to do with not fighting one another. Faber isnt telling Garbrandt he cant fight a team mate. If one team mate chooses to move up or down a weight class to avoid a team mate who is champion in their current weight class...thats a personal, strategic or both decision. Fact is when you are training with the champ on a consistent basis, they are getting insight on you and vice versa. You are learning from one another and about one another. Each fighter wants every advantage they possibly can get. The last thing a fighter wants is someone inside their head and knowing their game plans, weaknesses and preferences. Sure, there are fighters who are friends and they wont fight one another. That happens. You develop a brother hood and you dont want to harm your brother. But I assure you, that is not the case in this scenario. TJ Dillashaw is the snake Cody and Urijah claim him to be. The most ironic part of it...it was Connor who exposed him for being a snake and Cody/Urijah who came to Dillashaw's defense. TJ stood idly by and let his brothers come to his defense, while reassuring them he was Team Alpha Male through and through. Hell, Cody and Connor almost came to blows in Season 22 of TUF over Connor accusing TJ of being a snake. TJ even said on season 22 that was firmly TAA, yet while the show was airing...the laundry got exposed and now we hear Dillashaw admitting he was Elevation. I firmly believe Dillashaw didnt have the guts to tell Urijah that he was moving on. He owed Urijah everything. If it wasnt for Faber, Dillashaw wouldnt even be in UFC right now. If TJ felt like Ludwig could provide him a better place to train, he should have been a man and told Faber that. Thank him for his support and help, but explain he was ready to take the next step. Team Alpha Male is a business....but from what I can see, its a brotherhood too. These guys wish nothing but the best for one another. And Faber is so ing laid back...I cant see him making a demand and giving TJ an ultimatium. I could see him sitting down with TJ and telling him that he will need to make a business decision for what team he is going represent. These gyms like Team Alpha Male get cuts of the fighter's take. So when Dillashaw fights, who is he representing? Who is getting the cut? You cant give the money to Ludwig, while training at TAA. I dont know how the camps work. I dont know if thats a seperate deal or if its upfront pay or what. But I know the gym and team they work at get a cut. Dillashaw admitted that he wanted to split time, but was representing Ludwig and Elevation. He said on TUF Redemption that he had their logo on their gear, but still wanted to come back to TAA to train. Cant have your cake and eat it too. I think Faber was more hurt that Dillashaw lied to him than he was angry. Cody uses the anger to focus on his task. Its almost like the drama makes him more ready for the fight. Look at what he did against Cruz. He was a HUGE under dog. Cruz was touted as not only the greatest Bantamweight of the past, but of the present. The experts claimed Cody was out of control and couldnt keep his anger in check. They claimed that Cruz would pick him apart and school him. Garbrandt ANNIHILATED Cruz. Has anyone made Cruz look so weak inside the octagon...EVER?! Garbrandt clowned him. He NEVER lost control and at no point during the fight did he ever seem like he was out of control. He was completely and totally focused on taking that title. The one thing I will criticize Cody about that fight...the last 2 rounds showed Cody WAY too cocky. He had dominated. Cruz was destroyed. And Cody lost focus on the title and saw an opportunity to make his star power RISE exponentially. Well, he did that for sure. But I would never give a fighter like a Cruz an opportunity like that. Cruz might lack the knock out power, but he could have submitted Cody. In the end, Cody won, took the belt and became the top guy in the Batamweight division. He rose into the top 5 of the best pound for pound rankings, when he wasnt even ranked previously. He got a coaching spot on TUF redemption. And is being touted as the NEXT BIG THING in the UFC. And what a perfect time to do so. Rousey is finished. Connor is about to be a father and the only fight he seems concerned with is Mayweather. Lesnar is disgracefully finished. CM Punk couldnt fight his way out of a paperbag. UFC is looking for the next big thing. Its a new era in UFC. They need star power more than ever. And Cody wants that spot. He watched Connor and how he got to the top of UFC. And Cody is putting that same game plan into place. He clowned the experts who said he couldnt keep his anger in check. When this fight happens and that cage door shuts, its not gonna be about Dillashaw being a snake. Its going to be about putting on a show, defending that title and increasing his star power. If that means a 10 second KO...if that means dancing...if that means doing a shooting star press off the top of the cage...or if that means Cody grabbing Buffer's mic in the middle of the fight to cut a promo while jabbing...then so be it. I think this fight is going to be closer than the Cruz fight. In fact, I didnt think Cruz won the title fight against Dillashaw. I had it Dillashaw the victor. But more importantly, these 2 know one another. The only difference...Cody was a pup when he and TJ were sparring. NOW...the pup is the big dog. Much like the Cruz fight, Cody will need to keep this fight standing and TJ will want this to goto the ground. Will TJ stay focused to his game plan or will he lose focus like Cruz and try and prove a point? JoeWhite...if you think TJ is knocking out Garbrandt, I can GUARANTEE that aint happening. He can win. Dillashaw is no ing slouch. But he wont win by knockout. THAT I can guarantee. We have a better chance of seeing that shooting star press than TJ KOing Cody. My prediction is this will go the distance with a referee decision. Thats what my brain says. My gut says Cody wins early round 2 by KO.

All I am saying is no one team can teach everything is silly. This isn't boxing, this is fighting. There are exceptions always but more times than not pound for pound the fighter that has trained in 5 gyms in 10 years is going to WORK the Fighter that spent 10 years in 1 gym.
Snake this, snake that, snake in the grass, blah blah blah. This is Individual Combat FIGHTING. Cody isn't going to pay TJs bills. People seem to forget this is ALL PERSONAL, I love when teammates fight and I hear them say I respect him it's not personal this is what I do 😂😂😂😂😂.... a fight is all personal. 'I' will win. TJ won't loose this fight but that's only because Cody is becoming very Hollywood and TJ already got beat up for that. Again for the record I am not a fan of either. I feel like I whatching high school kids on Wednesday night.... they are like 135 right? Ok Middle school kids. Nether of them have talent past their weight class they would get bullied at 145 and hurt at 155 in today's UFC. 10 years ago different story...... maybe
I went to Vegas for fight week and tuf finally last year. I am going for fight week again but don't think I'm going this the tuf finally because I care that little about those two fighting.

I am going for fight week again but don't think I'm going this the tuf finally because I care that little about those two fighting. Who cares what weight class they are in? Both of them would break you or me. And I think you are DEAD wrong on Cody going up a class. He has deadly KO power at 135, he will be fine at 145. You are 100% right about one team being the place to learn it all. Of course you want to move around, camp to camp. You want to learn from the best. Preparing for Cruz, Cody worked with Bones, not a part of Team Alpha Male. But you can only have ONE team. Only one gym is where you are fighting out of, with and represent. Camps and gyms are different. the best UFC fighters fight for their team ($) and attend other camps in order to expand their knowledge or work with someone on specific skill. Dillashaw taking an Elevation camp isnt an issue. The issue was there were rumors he was joining Elevation's camp. When confronted with it, he said it was a lie and he was with Team Alpha Male. Then when Elevation was ready to go as a team, he bails....but says he wants to still come back and split time. This is a business. While inside the octagon, its 1 on 1. Outside of it is still part of the game. Conduct your business like man.

I think we will have to agree to disagree on the gym/camp I feel like and Fighter has to stay moving and stay evoking a great fight will have person trainers and a coach and or manager that will move with him and help them and stick with them. The "Team" mentality doesn't work for individual prize fighting. If the UFC did cards were teams fight teams and gives bonuses based on that I could understand.
As for Cody moving up he is the 135lbs Champ so he should look to be able to fight in say the top 7 fighters if he moves up to
Featherweight 145lbs Fighters Codys chances C Jose Aldo 😂😂😂😂😂 1 Max Holloway No chance.... 2 Frankie Edgar None 3 Ricardo Lamas ok maybe a 1/10 shot 4 Cub Swanson Cody don't hit that hard bro 5 Chan Sung Jung 😂😂😂 6 Anthony Pettis. Not likely probably +220 7 Yair Rodriguez Pick em'
Lightweight 155lbs
C Conor McGregor 😂😂😂😂😂 1 K. Nurmagomedov 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 2 Tony Ferguson Hey right! 3 Eddie Alvarez Ok he woul probably beat Eddie up 4 Rafael Dos Anjos Zero 5 Edson Barboza Zero 6 Michael Johnson Best chance on this list Could win 7 Nate Diaz Cody would actually get smacked
Cody hits hard for 135 that's where it ends. I don't think I could beat up a UFC fighter by any means but in no way would I be afraid of Cody in a bar even knowing what I know sorry...
