I collect wrestlers that I enjoyed watching, whether it's Elite or Basic. That consists mostly of flashbacks from the early 90's through the end of the Attitude Era, but also includes some of my current favorites from the main roster and NXT. Most guys I'm happy owning one figure that is my favorite look, but some guys like Sting, Taker, or Warrior that have multiple distinct looks I will buy a few different attires of.
I buy what I like, and never feel "obligated" to buy a certain figure. Even then, it's still tough keeping up with the pace that figures have been coming out.

MY RAMBLINGAccording to a VERY helpful list compiled on this site over the weekend, (thank you list maker guy) Mattel have made 259 different people (I include different gimmicks as characters, this list does not). I have a one of each guy rule and have 230 Mattel WWE figures. I was trying to get one of each wrestler ever made - then whilst bidding on Maxine, Alex Riley, David Otunga, Mason Ryan and Chris Masters over the weekend I stopped and though......WHY? Although I still watch current PPV's, Im an 80s and 90s fan. I don't even know these guys! The most I know about them are the fact they have figures. MY QUESTION
One Of Each? Just Your Favourites? Completionist? Divas only? Basics only? What type of collector are you? Only retro guys for me, and making rules is an interesting thing we all have to deal with. I do have a question on your "one of each guy" rule ... What if you buy one and then later on they release an awesome version of the same guy that you find more appealing than the one you already have? Have you ever broken this rule?

Started only wanting Legends or rather 80's-early 90's guys. Soon extended to Attitude era and eventually The Ruthless Aggression era. Now If I like a current roster person enough I'll buy em.
Elites and basics both. Prefer elites, guys like Warrior I'll buy everything.

Mainly just Elites of people in the current product who I actually like and don't have an elite of already (An updated Braun is by far my biggest want at the moment, with an updated Bray and the Revival at close second). Also figures that I think just look really good (DM Flair was my last buy). It helps me not spend too much money on figures and that keeps it as a fresh hobby to me and it does help in the long run when every purchase feels special and there's a reason behind the figures I buy.

GREAT question - WWE is the toughest line to collect as they're always outdated (Not Mattels fault!) Yes, Iv updated a few times! Some I remember are Bald Kane to Demon Kane, big beard Bryan to long haired Bryan. Series 1 basic Batista to Bluetista, Basic 4 Regal to Elite Flashback Regal. I replaced Xavier, Big E and Kofi with their New Day versions. When I get a different version of someone I prefer (its not always simply because its an up to date version) the others go. I will also update Slater when he's made and buy the new Mania 32 attire Ryder. I'll also get Legend Killer Orton and ditch the basic. I also plan on getting Elite 47.5 Rock to replace RSC exclusive Rock which was a poorly executed figure. I would LOVE HOF Slaughter to replace the Legends Slaughter which I always hated. Mostly though, I try to be happy with the one I have! Regarding multiples, I have two of Taker, Foley, HHH, Austin, Michaels, Bret Hart, Sting, Goldust and Rock.

I used to be a completionist until I relized I didn't enjoy every figure. So I ended up buying some figures I didn't like. The ones I didn't like I gave away and now I only collect the ones that I'm happy to show off.

I used to buy everything - a complist once upon a time.
Now I buy what I like, but mostly flashbacks etc.
I really don't think much of the current product. I enjoy the big shows (mania, rumble and SS), but I watch RAW in about 15 mins each week after recording it fast forwarding most of it.

I collect one of each wrestler. Except for guys like hogan, savage, warrior , in which case I buy them all. I do buy variations of people too like stardust and Cody Rhodes.

I have only slightly gotten into collecting over the past year or so. I only do guys who were in NXT. Right now, I just have about 12. I see them frequently around here, but just haven't purchased any in a while.

My collection is a lot smaller now. Years ago when jakks had the license I had a huge collection but sold nearly everything except my hardys and a couple of rock's. Now with Mattel I have balors warriors sting only 1 seth. 1 cactus jack and I will buy all of aj styles figures. Finally with the hardys signing I will buy all of there figures as well.

I'm a selective completionist. I only collect Championship Title Belts. I try to buy only the Championship Title Belts loose either from here or from the Bay of E. If I can't get the Championship Title Belt for $10 or under, I'll go ahead and buy it with the figure, keep the Championship Title Belt, and try to sell the figure and any other accessories it comes with. If I can't sell it, my heir takes them. There have been a couple exceptions where the Prince won't even allow me to attempt to sell them. For example, Elite 40 John Cena. As soon as he saw him, his exact words were, "that's mine now, you're not selling him!!"

I collect select Nwa/Wcw figures MOC. I only buy the ones that I'm a fan of & really want. I can't see buying every figure that's released just for the sake of it because it's there or if I'm not a fan of that particular wrestler.

When I first started, I was just getting the guys I liked as wrestlers and then some just because they looked cool, my collection was mostly just based on elites too. I then started to realize I was purchasing figures of wrestlers I didn't like and started to downsize. As of lately, I've been cherry picking due to Mattel cheapening out, loss of interest in the product and have decided to sell a lot of my collection to focus on mostly wcw guys and a few attires of guys on the main roster.
