I remember going out the first day the Mattel WWE we're available at the beginning of 2010 and buying the first series in full.
I thought from day one they were an upgrade from Jakks - better scale, more complete deco etc

Target HOF 1 Ultimate Warrior. That figure actually rekindled my interest in wrestling in general. Same here! HOF Ultimate Warrior. Only had Hasbro's before this. The photo on the package is basically the same one as on my Hasbro Warrior #2 so that drew me in.

I guess it would be Elite 1 Edge since that was the first I was able to find on release day.
It's hard to say Mattel really "started" anything for me since I've been collecting hardcore since 1989, though.
