Anyone know how to get rid of a smoke smell of figures?? I've heard of people using lysol and I have also heard of people putting them in a ziploc bag with dryer sheets for a few days.

Try mixing water & white vinegar. Use it to wash your figures or u could soak them in the solution, if the oder is strong let them soak overnight.

I bought a figure on EBay years ago that stunk something fierce. I tried washing it... didn't help. I tried putting it in a baggy with dryer sheets... made it smell like cotton fresh cigarettes. I even sprayed it with cologne... kinda masked it. Since then I found the only real way for it to go away is time. After being in a smoke free home the smell EVENTUALLY goes away.

I've had a couple of figures bought from ebay that smelt of smoke
Worst was E7 John Cena as the tshirt stunk. I sprayed it with aftershave which masked it quite well and then stood it near an open window for a few days and the fresh air eventually helped get rid if the smoke smell

That sounds absolutely disgusting. There needs to be a sticky somewhere with techniques for removing smoke smell because this question comes up a lot.

I bought a completed BAF Teddy Long online that reeked of smoke and put it in a ziploc bag of uncooked rice for several days and it absorbed the smell.

I experienced a house fire a few years back. Wasn't cigarette smoke smell, but a strong smoke odor none the less. I put my belongings( books, figures, non clothing junk) in bags with baking soda. Left them sealed up in the bags for a few days to a few months depending on how much dusting I felt like doing. Smell of the fire went away really well.

Take your index finger and your thumb and then pinch your nose. The smokey smell should immediatly disappear.

With your user name, I would have thought your post would have been along the lines of what I've heard that goofball Grim discuss, when referring to loose figures bought online: "Butt Figures" . . . according to him, you never know where they've been . . .
