Im talking about your average run of the mill WWE fan who may not scour the internet.
I don't watch as much as I use to but it seems like a decent majority just pop for his entrance and then nothing.

I don't know, you're asking us internet fans on a Wrestling Forum.. If you want casual fans, you should be asking in facebook comments or youtube comments

Casual fans likely don't watch NXT, ROH, or New Japan. So outside of his entrance casual fans barely know who Nakamura is. They haven't really done much with him so far on the main roster.

Casual fans only care about sellouts like Roman Reigns, John Cena, and Big Show

I think sometimes I like Nakamura's entrance more than his wrestling. sometimes.

I don't watch NXT and have been watching regularly far less, and I honestly don't see much special about him. Problem is they bring guys from NXT and act like everyone knows who they are, but the fact is not everyone watches NXT. It always gets me that WWE brings these NXT guys in and most of the time they don't bring them in the fold in a good introduction way, because they act as everyone knows this person and they are already a star. To a person who never watches NXT like me, I don't see the big deal at all about Nakamura. It also didn't help that his first main roster feud was against Ziggler (a guy who hasn't won a feud in ages).

I think Nakamura is a horrible wrestler. I do not find him entertaining whatsoever. But with that said, I also find myself humming his theme song more times than any other song - wrestling theme or actual song - so I guess his entrance does have a specialty to it.

Honestly don't think I have seen one of Nakamura's matches yet. Saw his entrance on the replay of last weeks Smackdown and wasn't a fan. Not a fan of Finn's entrance either to be honest. They are both way too drawn out and I don't like either of their theme songs.

Well I would consider myself a sort of casual-hardcore fan hybrid. What I mean by that is that when it comes to wrestling, I don't watch anything other than WWE, and I don't watch NXT. But I am very interested in WWE.
That said, as someone with previously no exposure to Nakamura, when he was on NXT I would hear about him all the time and his seemingly "godlike" reputation among fans. And so I was just waiting to finally see whether this guy was worth all the hype.
So far, I'm not too impressed, but I can see something worthwhile in him at least. His motions are just bizarre. I do like that his kicks are sold by other wrestlers as stronger than other wrestlers' kicks, as though they have more impact behind them. Do I think he was worth the hype? No. Should he still be part of the roster? Yes.

I'm not sure what you mean by run of the mill fans that may not scour the internet. In 2017 America even our lowest income bracket has access to a smart phone and the internet. A casual fan today can tune in for the first time in years, see Nakamura, hit google and find info or watch matches from Japan.
That said, people are going to like what they like, and I don't think there's one bigger reason for either side anymore. For example, a casual fan could have never heard of him outside of nXt and be drawn into that entrance and end up liking his wrestling style. Some like his entrance but not his style. Some aren't into his style or entrance. Some are probably turned off by the entrance. Others will crap on him because he's being pushed as a big deal and they feel that's the 'cool' thing to do.
And depending on who you listen to, WWE either encourages you to have any of those opinions, or doesn't care about your opinion and will do what they want.

I would assume it's too early to tell. He's only had two televised matches. And both were multi man tag matches. So I'd say the verdict is still out. I will say, so far WWE has presented him as a huge star. You'd think, eventually people will start to believe them.

They will. He hasn't been on the main roster long enough and worse off, he got stuck with the HBK Wannabe Ziggler.

What he doesn't get from casual American fans he'll more than make up for internationally.
Let's be real, Nakamura is a bridge to the other side.

From what I gather, there are casual fans that think he's homosexual and/or mentally handicapped.

The black-light part almost gives me a seizure when he comes out at the beginning.

It's really early but WWE is starting off his Main Roster introduction in quite a "meh" way.
That match with Ziggler was booked so bad. Should've been about him showcasing his best moves, dominating most of the match, and being faster/quick. Instead it was slow, and Ziggler dominated until the end (not to mention Ziggler fell WAY down the ranks after his feud with Miz, now all of the sudden he's giving Nakamura a hard time). If the match HAD to be like that, Nakamura should've had 3 or 4 matches before so casuals could get some basic in ring knowledge of him.
For those of you who never seen him before and think it's underwhelming so far.... it is but it's more-so on the awful booking IMO. I think they can turn it around but time will tell.

Nakamura is awesome and his entrance along with the them song is one of the best things on Smackdown.
However his booking has been horrible, now don't get me wrong I'm glad they didn't pull another Finn Balor and strap a rocket to his back but at the same time he debut after Mania and did nothing but dance and mess about in the ring for weeks until he wrestled an actual match. I knew that casual fans would hate it and I'm afraid my fears came true.

I'm just waiting until he faces AJ Styles and has a great match against him. He if ends up having a poor match with AJ Styles then I will assume he's not as good as people think he is.

I like his look, expressions, and entrance, but his wrestling isnt my favorite. I actually find myself fastforwarding his matches quite a bit. I like moves and spots in matches. Not just striking because I could watch MMA or something if I want real strong striking.
Guys like Hideo and Bryan are strikers, but more exciting in ring. Maybe he just hasnt had the right opponent yet. Idk.
