Nakamura is awesome and his entrance along with the them song is one of the best things on Smackdown. However his booking has been horrible, now don't get me wrong I'm glad they didn't pull another Finn Balor and strap a rocket to his back but at the same time he debut after Mania and did nothing but dance and mess about in the ring for weeks until he wrestled an actual match. I knew that casual fans would hate it and I'm afraid my fears came true. Agree. Dolph Ziggler was absolutely awful for his debut feud.. Ziggler in 2011 would have been incredible against Nakamura. Ziggler in 2017 is trash and was a mistake..

Ziggler in 2017 is trash and was a mistake.. I wouldn't fully blame Ziggler. Look at it like this most people had never heard of Nakamura and then suddenly this new guys debuts and dances, acts silly and messes around for weeks before wrestling an actual match. His match with Ziggler sucked but that was mainly the booking of the match because he was dominated during most of it. And to make matters worse his Smackdown matches have been tag team matches so it's crazy to think that Nakamura debut in April and has only wrestled 1 singles match. He is a great talent and doesn't deserve to be hated on but you can't blame people because his handling has been horrendous. WWE repeatedly make the mistake of assuming that everyone watches NXT and I'm not changing the subject but look at American Alpha. They are part timers who are falling into the pits because people who don't know them only see them as a random team who wrestle occasionally.

I'm a big fan of Nakamura. I was hooked the first time I saw him in NXT and it made me go back and check his older stuff and I never missed a match he had in NXT.
But since he's been on the main roster I'm honestly not interested.

It's really early but WWE is starting off his Main Roster introduction in quite a "meh" way. That match with Ziggler was booked so bad. Should've been about him showcasing his best moves, dominating most of the match, and being faster/quick. Instead it was slow, and Ziggler dominated until the end (not to mention Ziggler fell WAY down the ranks after his feud with Miz, now all of the sudden he's giving Nakamura a hard time). If the match HAD to be like that, Nakamura should've had 3 or 4 matches before so casuals could get some basic in ring knowledge of him. For those of you who never seen him before and think it's underwhelming so far.... it is but it's more-so on the awful booking IMO. I think they can turn it around but time will tell. I don't mind it. I think it's actually good that Nakamura has sort of slowed it down a little bit. Too many guys do too many spots, and it comes off as a choreographed routine, rather than a wrestling match. I think in wrestling today there is a lot of "wasted motion" and things that just don't make sense in terms of if it was an actual competitive event. Nakamura is a striker. Elbow strikes, knee strikes, and kicks. It's not always going to be pretty and it's not always going to be fast. It's going to be calculated and brutal. I like it better than a guy looking like he's doing gymnastics out there. I'm not going to get into a whole 'Dive' discussion, but you get the point. It's like why I like Charlotte more than Naomi. Charlotte is wrestling, Naomi is doing spots that don't make sense, waste time, and put her at risk (kayfabe). And as far as Dolph Ziggler....I think that is good, as well. Dolph Ziggler has been so under-utilized that I'm glad he didn't just get buried by Nakamura, and I was actually happy he beat AJ. I don't think the loss hurt AJ. Yeah, Dolph hasn't been doing much, but rather than it making Nakamura look weak, let's just say it made Dolph look a little better than he had been. He's still a former World Champion, he's a 10+ year WWE veteran, and we could easily explain that he's been in a kayfabe slump and now he's ready to break out.

I just think his debut could've been hyped up a little more. I mean, this is one of the best performers in the business. It should've been a WAY bigger deal. They could've done a lot by making Nakamura seem more Legendary than he is. I honestly felt like his NXT debut was a much bigger deal, and it should've been the other way around.

Well I would consider myself a sort of casual-hardcore fan hybrid. What I mean by that is that when it comes to wrestling, I don't watch anything other than WWE, and I don't watch NXT. But I am very interested in WWE. That said, as someone with previously no exposure to Nakamura, when he was on NXT I would hear about him all the time and his seemingly "godlike" reputation among fans. And so I was just waiting to finally see whether this guy was worth all the hype. So far, I'm not too impressed, but I can see something worthwhile in him at least. His motions are just bizarre. I do like that his kicks are sold by other wrestlers as stronger than other wrestlers' kicks, as though they have more impact behind them. Do I think he was worth the hype? No. Should he still be part of the roster? Yes. . My opinion exactly

The black-light part almost gives me a seizure when he comes out at the beginning. Does WWE give warnings at live shows when they do that kind of stuff?

No WWE show I've ever been to ever said anything alerting the fans to potential pyrotechnics or strobe light affects. If people start really complaining or if it really does cause somebody to have a seizure, maybe they will have to. I know when I go to Yankee games whey always begin with an announcement that "fans must be alert and aware of their surroundings, hard hit baseballs and bats may be hit or thrown into the stands, any quest who is concerned with his or her seat location can contact customer services....etc" But yea, when Nakamura comes out and they do that black light thing, my eyes start to pulse. I could totally see that triggering somebody who has existing epilepsy.

WWE should cover themselves by making a small announcement at the start of shows.

Jesus the guy has been on the main roster for 5 minutes and outside of the hardcore and Japan no-one knows who he is really. Topics like this are why I hate the iwc so much, they think they speak for everyone.
Did I just read someone say he is a 'horrible wrestler'?! Okaaaaay. Mojo Rawley, Roman Reigns, James Ellsworth, Nia Jax etc... These are horrible wrestlers.
Who has said what this topic asks? Has anyone officially heard anything? Do most fans hate him? Does the iwc follow people around listening to their opinions?
I highly doubt it, he is entertaining and his matches will get better if he is let loose a bit.
Nakamura is doing absolutely fine despite the low key debut. He is a slow build. Just give him a chance.
If someone isn't champ after 30 seconds these days then everyone gets antsy. Calm down and just watch the show.

Do they even care about his entrance? No. Scream-singing while furiously chanting ones name in between instrumental choruses is an internationally recognized symbol of disinterest.

I don't know about casual fans, but I can tell you that I don't see anything special beyond the entrance. The wacky faces and gesticulations do nothing for me and the actual wrestling leaves quite a bit to be desired in my eyes.

I enjoyed his entrance the first time but then it got annoying and too long the next couple weeks. Then I grew irritated with his facial gestures. I don't watch NXT btw. But I was curious to see how he was there but I ended up just looking for balor cameos after nakamuras farewell episode
