I doubt they will do anything of substance. They've stated numerous times they don't care all that much about the TV ratings because TV is only a small part of their overall revenue. That's not true. Their TV rights deal is their number one profit generator, and it's worth more than the next 3 profit generators on the list combined, including the Network. Brian James is really the major perpetrator of the "ratings are antiquated!" position that a lot of people feel the company has taken in recent years (conveniently when their ratings have tanked.) They care, they're just too committed to their flawed vision to correct it. It's certainly not a secret that television ratings are down across the board, with streaming increasing dramatically, but no show with a prayer of being renewed is seeing the kind of drops WWE is seeing. That's not to say that they're in danger of being cancelled, because they're on a bottom tier cable network that has struggled for years to draw consistent audiences, but they are in danger of receiving a much less friendly rights deal in a couple of years. That has the ability to drastically effect the way they do business, and not for the better.

Wrestling is dying, water is wet, the sky is blue. What else is new? We live in a world where TV as a whole is a thing of the past, if it isn't streamed, a good portion of the world won't bother anymore.

Both Raw and SD have been abysmal lately. I haven't been bothered to watch either in its entirety in months. From what I've seen from the youtube replay snippets, I haven't missed much.

Not surprising. I had a late night shift, so i missed RAW Monday, but i saw the highlights, listened to Don Tony ans Kevin Castle. Seems the only highlight of the show was the Reigns vs Rollins, which i then went out of my way to watch, and it was pretty good as said even though Reigns won Wyatt/Joe/Balor was really good as well.

add me to the 'i stopped watching after mania' list. been watching lots of 1998 wwf, 1980s nwa, and 97-99 ecw though. the creative aspect of the product ruins everything else. really a bummer considering the immense in ring talents they have.

I've been catching slot of highlights of Raw and SDL since WM, though I have been binge watching every show from Armageddon to WM17 over the past few weeks and it's crazy how good the company use to be.

Raw was pretty awful. I wouldn't blame anyone for not watching.

I don't watch the weekly shows much anymore since Mania. Roman beating Taker really soured me on current WWE.

Meltzer had some interesting points on this
This rating is lower than every episode of Nitro ever aired
1 percent of homes ditched cable in the last year, ratings have fallen 20 percent year to date.
There was 0 competition on Monday night from any other programming
Why watch if entire episodes of raw are uploaded by WWE to YouTube 10 minutes after a match happens?

I haven't given up on the product, but i have been giving it less time until something interesting happens. I skipped RAW the last 2 weeks and missed this weeks SDL. But i keep up with recaps on the Network or youtube etc.Hopefully, seeing as to how they got the best crop of talent since the 2002 influx, they can gain some creative traction and produce more than 1 or 2 compelling segments per 3 hour show.

I've never really been a fan of Raw since the initial draft last July, but ever since the shake up a month or so ago, I have hated both Raw and Smackdown now.
To be honest, if WWE died tomorrow, I wouldn't care. It would just mean ROH, TNA, NJPW, and maybe even new wrestling organizations would pop up, probably with more creative story lines.

Did I miss something or did I read, "number 1 in viewership." ??

I'm sure they'll try to rationalize it and claim this was due to it being Memorial Day.

Did I miss something or did I read, "number 1 in viewership." ?? It does say that, not sure if it's true but it may well be. Despite ratings being down compared to what they were, WWE is still the only thing keeping USA in the overall rankings. That doesn't look likely to change anytime soon, so the company is safe. Which means they'll keep plodding along and I'll keep preferring YouTube highlights to the full show.

-- RAW has all the Shield members, as well as Finn to form his own actual 'Club'. RAW is shooting themselves in the foot by not pulling the trigger on this.

If you put the Shield back together, and you have Finn Form his own Club....I'm assuming you mean with Gallows and Anderson....who's the heel stable? I don't think WWE is going to turn Seth, Dean, and especially ROMAN REIGNS all heel at the same time...and I don't think WWE is going to turn Finn Balor heel at this point,....so as good as the matches would probably be, I don't think logistically this can work at the current time..... The only thing Vince McMahon is focused on is getting to WM34 so Roman Reigns can beat Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title. That is the only thing WWE is currently planning for long term...everything else is just being randomly thrown together on the spur of the moment.

The show is way too long has too much filler. Roman Reigns. Don't even get me started. Most of my favs are on Smackdown anyway. I can catch up with the wrestlers I like from RAW by watching reviews and clips WWE posts. Brock never defends the belt. Smackdown uses nearly all of it's wrestlers and almost nothing feels like filler.
There isn't much point to watching RAW these days. Even if it's on and I am bored I'll wind up doing something else because 3 hours is ridiculous.

Now would be the time for TNA to time slot itself back into Monday's and take a shot. Heck the Monday night wars started off with a bang with the Luger thing but it didn't really pick up steam for awhile after that. TNA just needs to promote the crap out of a Monday Head to Head time and put out some quality stuff. Of course they probably don't have the money to do that and I know it failed once but the E machine was still cruising now it is slowing down.
Or Vince needs to get out of his own way and let Triple be the creative guy, once V is gone I bet the huge Hollywood writer staff is gone too.
