Hawkins was never brought back to be anything more than what he is. Of course Jinder was brought back to do the same thing but they ended up doing more. Hawkins is a solid in ring performer capable of on the job training to help out younger guys. He can also put over guys that just need a win. He probably took the job for a couple reasons. The money is probably better than he was making. There may be an understanding that there may be a Performance Center job down the line. If WWE ever wants to expand their product into Queens...Im sure Curt Hawkins will become WWE champion too. He can headline Wrestlemania at Citi Field!!!

Jobbers are essential to wrestling. Hawkins is playing his part well.

It actually looked like they were going to do something with him when they kept hyping him up with those random Chuck Norris like facts. Maybe they just realised how stupid that actually was.

I assumed they're trying to find the right thing for him and his wife just gave birth so I thought he'd take some time off.
I liked the Star FACTory but feel he's probably best suited in a tag team. Maybe Cass turns heel and they team up and do New York things.

For the exact same reason they brought back Jinder and yet Hawkins was the one who had more to offer but go figure...

Back in the day, there were hardly any matches of significance on TV. The big matches between established stars were saved for PPV or MSG. If Razor Ramon and Diesel were fighting at the PPV, you would have them both squash jobbers leading up to the match. They didn't even do a lot of face to face interaction, they'd do those little 30-60 second vignettes where they would call each other out. I think WWE gives away too much on free tv. It makes their PPV's seem like nothing special. They gave away Randy Orton vs. AJ Styles for the first time on a random Smackdown. Seth Rollins vs. John Cena on RAW weeks before SummerSlam....I'm not saying make your TV shows intentionally unimportant, but you either do that or make the PPV's seem status-quo. Instead of Roman Reigns fighting the guy he's facing at the PPV in a different style match for weeks leading up to the match....just have Roman Reigns and whoever his opponent is showcase themselves against guys like Hawkins, Bo Dallas, Curtis Axel, Heath Slater, R-Truth, and Goldust. Instead, they give you two guys at a PPV who you've already seem numerous times in every conceivable type of match. Yes indeed. This is something the Monday Night Wars forever changed about live wrestling TV. Eric Bischoff has said many times over the years that he began phasing out the enhancement talent matches in an effort to increase ratings to beat Vince and Co. Hell, after binge watching Nitro I just witnessed it pretty much die the night Goldberg beat Scott Hall, then Hogan for the belt on less then a week's advertisement. It worked during that time frame, and WWE had to follow in WCW's footsteps to keep up, but it's hard to go back to that formula without competition, and using this delusion that 50/50 booking is a good way to keep one guy from dropping too far down on the card.

To be fair, when he was returning, they hyped him up before his debut. But once he got there, nobody cared. Face that fact.
I had wanted him to stay on SD with Ryder & Rawley. And I was hoping they do a storyline where Ryder had to choose between having fun with Mojo or finding success with Hawkins once again. After weeks of debilitating loses with Mojo, he'd make the turn to re-align with Hawkins.

Who knows, maybe he just hasn't wowed them since his return? He seems to be exactly the same as he was when he left. Maybe he's too complacent? I mean look at Jinder. The guy reinvented himself, worked harder, and WWE took notice. Translation: He took steroids.

I'm glad they brought him back. I knew when they brought him back he'd be an enhancement talent but I was hoping he'd somehow get a chance. When Jinder won the WWE Championship the 1st thing that I thought was "there's still hope for Hawkins" lol. Even now with Breezeango getting a push I still hope Hawkins gets a chance eventually.

Perhaps he took a "steroid-like substance" which causes muscle growth, vein popping, and bacne. When Curt Hawkins follows that same path and becomes RAW champion, we are gonna be in trouble. And so will the ratings.
