Hi guys here is something I was thinking to myself, why isn't summerslam held in stadiums FOOTBALL or baseball? It seems like WWE may only go to stadiums for wrestlemania but they could go to a stadium for summerslam too. They went to the Alamodome back in January with 50,000 or so fans if im remembering night. Summerslam is the 2nd biggest event of the year and people from all over come to summerslam every year even in a 20,000 seat arena so can you imagine if they went to For example, MetLife stadium with 80,000 or citi field in queens with 30,000-50,000 or more in there. Those are just two examples there's many more stadiums they can run. My only guess why they don't run stadiums is because they're all booked with NFL and MLB games so it's nearly impossible to rent one in August where as it's easier in March/ APRIL for wrestlemania.
Would you guys like to see summerslam starting next year come to a stadium? also means the cards will be even bigger too and it will truly feel like a mini wrestlemania and I think more fans will watch because it's in a stadium. Where would you guys like to see it next year in 2019 etc,. Can't wait to hear all your thoughts.

Im fine with it staying as is. Wrestlemania attracts a TON of international fans that I doubt would be able to afford to make the international trip two times in one year. If we were basing on US fans alone, theres no way they could fill a stadium.
Also by switching to a stadium doesnt automatically translate to WWE making a better effort for better feuds and bringing in bigger names. There have been plenty of Manias over the past few years that have fallen flat. Also it would be a huge detriment to the guys working all year round. Basically they fill the card every day while they get to do nothing on yet another big show of the year.

I get what you're saying although every so often having it in a stadium would be a really cool feel I mean a lot of INTERNATIONAL and North American fans attended the royal rumble this year at the Alamodome then came back to and attended wrestlemania 2 months later so I think the hardcore fans would attend a summerslam in a stadium. Don't do it every year but every few years would be cool. I think honestly summerslam next year will be in either Los Angeles or Las Vegas t-mobile arena seems like a viable option for summerslam Vegas or la would attract a lot of fans but we will see. Would love to see it continue to stay in the New York area if not mania 35 better be in the northeast all im saying.

To be honest I never really cared for the football Stadium look the ramp is too big and the entrances take too long and it looks like the superstars are running down to the ring half the time. Some of my favorite PPV looks aren't even from football stadiums.

I'd be all for a 40,000 capacity stadium. Certainly not Wrestlemania sized stadiums because you still want some separation between the two. Something outdoors like a baseball stadium.

I'm predicting next year that Summerslam will be either in Citi Field or Yankee Stadium.

An outdoor stadium would be great because the sunny blue sky would fit the Summerslam feel perfectly.

SummerSlam should be the event they put in lesser known/lesser visited stadiums. Its also the event that England should get every few years. Its a big event yet not the overly huge travel event like Mania is. Id love to see SummerSlam in Wembley, Michigan/Beaver/Neyland stadium places like that

SSlam at the Linc or Citizens Bank Park? I'd be all for that.

Too much chance of it not being successful. It wouldn't have the big international appeal that WrestleMania has.

I feel like WWE is totally content just rotating through the same five cities for Wrestlemania every year and swapping between New York and California for Summerslam.
Can't even get a throwaway PPV at MSG these days.

I read that WWE wants to make Summerslam as big as WrestleMania so I think we'll definitely see it held in big stadiums in a few years.

Here's a concept chart I drew for a potential WrestleMania at Yankee Stadium that I'm sure I've shared in the past here...could work for SummerSlam as well: smaller venue than the usual WM selections but still big enough to hold over 50,000 plus it opens the door for all baseball stadiums (and more importantly, all cities that usually get shunned for Mania) to host the event if their team's schedule permits.

As a huge wrestling and Yankees fan, if they ever hold a wrestling event at Yankee Stadium I'm there. 110%.

The thing about baseball stadiums for things other than baseball is they're awkwardly shaped. So you'll usually end up with huge empty sections on the fields. WWE being all about presentation these days probably wouldn't be a fan of large empty spaces on the field making it on tv.

A few years back I was wondering about outdoor US soccer stadiums. If they didn't want to go with a full blown baseball stadium, they could still get up to 30,000 in a soccer stadium.

Summerslam won't be at an outdoor stadium. Doing an event outdoors in March/April is a lot different than doing it outdoors in the middle of August. Don't be surprised if Brooklyn gets extended or SS moves to T Mobile in Vegas.

SSlam in 2018 should be at MSG since it'll be 30 years.

costs too much money for the WWE to do this. But who knows? Maybe a few years from now, maybe 10 years, maybe never, we're all gonna die anyway, GET OFF MY LAWN!
