Starting with B77, it appears basics will have a new arm mold. with no upper shoulder articulation, similar to the TTL arms imo. Without going wild, do you like the new arms or maybe feel different?

I'm pretty sure I fall into number 2. I liked that they were covering up the peg holes but losing the articulation at the shoulder (and ankles) is brutal. Not to mention we lose an element of customizability. So many people on here default to "just fix it yourself." Well, now we've lost a way to do that with the upper arms, if we're so inclined.
Bill made it pretty clear that their production costs have gone up and he's fighting to stay at price points that stores are asking Mattel to be(stay) at. So this is likely the change that is happening so that we still only have to pay $9.99 for Basics. From the consumer side I think it's garbage, but from a business side I totally understand his position.

I have no interest in purchasing any with the style shown. I really don't care much for the newest elbow change either... I don't like change I guess =\

The articulation is still there. In real life you cant rotate your biceps much and the arm swivel has just moved to the elbow instead. If anything, its only really the aesthetics that is weird to get used to.
Also, I'll be honest, I love the new one piece boots too, no more wobbly feet and loose ankles!

If the articulation just moved, I can't say I have that much of a problem with it.
The thing that hurts basic figures the most is the subtraction of ankle articulation. Granted, the ankle wasn't a huge deal if you think about it, but even Jakks RA and TTL had ankle articulation. The biggest thing with me is that they look cheap now.

So, I'm confused. Is the new elbow joint the one that has recently been placed on some basics and elites (such as Wilder from revival) or will this new one spin all the way around as the previous bicep joint did?

No one has had these new figures in had, so no one can really comment on them yet.

If you want to know what these arms are like on figures, pick up an old CAS set. These are the same arms.

If they end up removing the bicep articulation from the Elite line, I'm done.

I still have an unanswered question I am really curious about from a now locked thread:
If I understand correctly, and please correct me if I'm wrong.
Basics prior to SDCC '17 were able to turn 360 degrees at the top of the bicep and the elbow only moved up and down 90 degrees like? Basics after SDCC '17 are able to turn 360 degrees at the elbow and the elbow still moves up and down 90 degrees like?
So the swivel is now at the bottom of the bicep and incorporates the elbow bend? Can someone tell me what's so bad about this? It doesn't seem that bad as I understand it.
It still has the same movement and functionality, just a different appearance?
Edit: Could someone show me a picture of movements that this new arm mold prevents?

That and people who want to swap parts between basic and elite.

Well, I guess it's okay if it's the same range of motion, but like the boots, I feel it's a loss because the biceps/ankles are locked in one position, but it does allow for unbroken arm tattoos and kickpad designs, so that's a plus. I really need one in hand before I can have a complete opinion on them.

It looks like a bad idea. It might turn out but I doubt it.

I dislike the new arms mostly because it makes it impossible to swap arms out without cracking the torsos. I don't do full customs, but I do a lot of parts swaps.

The arms don't bother me....the lack of ankle articulation does.
