The Slammy Awards have always been terrible, except when Owen ran with it.

I heard that he personally wasn't a fan of WWE Magazine. Specifically the Jerk of the Month section. And in turn killed it for that very reason. No, the magazine simply couldn't support itself. Subscriptions kept falling and the issues kept getting thinner, meanwhile the whole print industry is declining.

When they brought back the Slammy Awards, it was kind of cool the first couple times. It progressively meant less and less every year because the nominees and the winners were obvious wtf's. I remember that year when Roman Reigns won Superstar of the Year over someone who had a MONSTER year. I don't really remember, but it was so blatantly giving the fans the middle finger I was turned off by the whole thing.
Glad it is gone.
Bring back Throwback Raw or Classic Raw or whatever they called it with the old tron and stuff. That's what I want.

If they ever want to bring it back, instead of doing it on RAW or SD, have it as a Network exclusive. Air in on a Thursday, have all the talent there, and make then dress up like they used to. Make it a genuine award show with the fans voting on certain categories.

It would be a bit awkward doing it now with the brand split. They could either have it on Raw, which would mean SD wrestlers being on the show, which I'm sure they're trying t avoid. Or one Slammy Awards show for each brand, which would be overkill. I totally understand why they dropped it.

Good. The Slammys have pretty much always been awful.

I haven't seen anything to suggest it was him. However, its a good idea so it wouldn't surprise me.

I must be in the minority but I liked the Slammy's. I always thought of them as an end of year finale.
