considering wwe's track record, it wouldn't be surprising if they were punishing him for responding to meltzer. but who knows?

I want to accuse of you being a basement dwelling nerd doing an exercise in fantasy booking to suit your own tastes.
I can't though because I like the idea and it would have condensed two matches I am not that invested in into one match I would be very interested in while reducing the total number of matches on a somewhat bloated card.
As it is, I'm still not all that psyched for Cena/Corbin and my only interest in Nakamura/Jinder is to see the belt change hands as the Jinder experiment needs to end. I loved Nakamura in NJPW and NXT but so far his main roster work has been average. Maybe with the title and some high caliber competition (*cough* AJ STYLES *cough*) he can return to his top star form of the past.

I don't understand why they blew it for seemingly no reason. It was just a waste of a cash-in and waste of a loss. I don't mind people losing their MITB matches, but they should be bigger than just a worthless cash-in to end SD and not even win. Just seemed rushed and pointless.

Corbin has massive heat according to WOL because of the way he uses his Twitter. This is WWE's way of punishing him for being a edgy 14 year old on Twitter. Corbin don't come across very bright on Twitter.

Corbin don't come across very bright on Twitter. I wouldn't say that. I'd say he's just a big kid, kinda pushing that edgy 14 comment ahead with merit. Wants to be cool with the right crowd or some stuff.

I'm glad he lost. I don't like his character and didn't want him winning the case anyway.

Personally, id rather see Jinder with the strap than Corbin at this point anyway, and I wouldn't have said that a few months ago. Jinder has stepped up and Corbin just seems incredibly complacent. If Corbin could add something, anything really, to his character, I'd be all for him getting the title by this time next year, but now is not the time

He's a heel, he should be acting like a prick on twitter. Much like Kevin Owens and Rusev. The difference is that the other two look not only good, but competent coming out of Twitter exchanges. Corbin comes out looking like an insipid moron.

My main issue is that Nakamura may walk out of Summerslam as the World champion. Now that would be an awful idea because he has been a major disappointment and should not be near the top championship anytime soon. It has also put a damper on Summerslam because Corbin casting his shadow over both main events would've had a great feel. I completely disagree. It removes the factor of the main event scene getting even more bland and boring. Keep and get Corbin, Mahal, and (the unmotivated) Orton away from the main event, ASAP. Nakamura's being a disappointment seems to have come from no fault of his own. WWE bring him up to interrupt Miz, which was interesting and gave fans some hope. Miz is traded to Raw 6 days later, nixing that feud. They then stick him with Ziggler, who had no momentum at the time, and has been on a downward spiral since mid 2015. It's a mediocre feud with Nakamura coming out on top. They then put him in a feud with Corbin, the guy that is so bland and mundane that he makes Steve Blackman look like the Rock in comparison. Nakamura wins yet another mediocre feud.

What exactly is his character and why does he dance around and do poses? None of that has been explained and you have a huge percentage of fans who don't watch NXT and are expected to buy all of that. I like Nakamura and don't class him as a failure but he needs much more work before he should be anywhere near the World title.

Last time I watched Corbin was on the Battleground PPV and you could hear crickets in the background, once I watched that match I knew they wont be putting no title on him. Im a Corbin fan but man he gets very little reaction from the crowd.

WWE are punishing themselves for not pushing Corbin. He has potential to be a heel like Randy Orton was 2007-09. He could have a good feud with Reigns and it would do Reigns favours too as the fans will side with Reigns over Corbin.

I think Corbin either loses to Cena at SummerSlam, or gets himself DQ'd...but either way I think after the match he obliterates John Cena and they do an angle where Cena gets written off due to injury and then Baron Corbin can proclaim himself as the man that retired John Cena.
That's a bigger accolade than MITB. He can use that as reasoning to be the new #1 contender against either Mahal, Nakamura, or just insert himself into the situation and make it a 3-way feud.
I still think Jinder walks out of SummerSlam as Champ, probably by losing via DQ.

The more I think about it Cena costing Corbin the cash in really made no sense. He was fighting Corbin at Summerslam which means their match would've became a title match so basically Cena screwed himself out of leavning Summerslam as a 17 time champion.

I would have liked to have seen them use the failed cash-in to set up Cena-Corbin, not as a build-up. Corbin didn't seem too interested in facing John a few weeks back before Cena's future brother-in-law intervened, so why not have Corbin act like he's the future, Cena's the past, and there would be no benefit to beating up an old ghost. Only after Corbin starts blaming Cena for the MITB embarrassment does he wants to face Big Match John.
