In a survey sent out to WWE Network subscribers, WWE asked fans about what types of programming and features they would be interested in watching as part of a premium priced tier on the Network. Here is what WWE mentioned:

New Reality Shows: Reality shows featuring life on the road for WWE Superstars, an insider’s view of WWE Superstars’ intense training and workout regimens, WWE Superstar “Cribs”, WWE-style “Apprentice” to win a job at WWE, or WWE Legends’ House Season 2 – Attitude Era

Tournaments: New in-ring tournaments such as a Pro Am style tournament (WWE vs. NXT), a Lucha tournament, a tag team tournament, or King / Queen of the Ring tournaments Other Promotions: Historic and new programming from ICW, PROGRESS, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, or other regional Indie promotions

WWE “Director’s Cut”: Shows that put a new twist on classic content such as WWE Legends narrating historic pay-per- views or current WWE Superstars providing their perspective and analysis of classic matches and events

Audio Channel: A section of WWE Network for “listening only” that provides audio play- by-play of pay-per- views, music playlists, “sports radio” style call-in shows and podcasts

House Shows: For the first time ever, get a live, ringside view of select WWE house shows TV-14 In-Ring Show: A “new” weekly version of ECW (Extreme Championship Wrestling) or other “edgy” new promotion rated TV-14

Original Scripted Comedies: Comedies such as WWE Superstar Roasts, Southpaw

A lot of this sounds extremely far-fetched and seems to be more about gauging fans' interest levels in certain areas. A lot of this stuff just isn't even possible - specifically, NJPW or TNA shows being added to the Network. They've polled fans on other promotions in the past and nothing ever came of it.

The "alternate commentary" could be a really interesting idea, depending on who they could potentially get to agree to do live commentary on a PPV. But this, again, seems like a long shot because who's to say people like Steve Austin would even be interested in calling a PPV live without ever previously doing commentary (aside from his guest spots on RAW when he was an active wrestler, obviously)?

I am interested in the new tournaments, the TV-14 rated brand just because I like the idea of a third brand and always liked the ECW brand WWE had back then, Original scripted comedies, Special live events, Local tournaments, Download to go, personalize, Alternative audio for the commentary, rating system, new reality shows, and everything that mentions cross promotions!

Without going into boring details, out of their choices, I told WWE I wanted tournaments, reality series, comedy series, and a TV14 show. As perks I said I wanted, customization, the loyalty program, sweepstakes, fan voting, a rating system, & breaking news the most.

I don't need to see GFW or ROH on the Network.

I have loved the tournaments we've gotten and would love to see more.

I loved Breaking Ground and would enjoy having something like that back.

The TV-14 because, sometimes, I want a lil grit.

Loyalty program is something I think they should have had already.

Sweepstakes for free s*** is always nice.

Fan voting for HOF or Slammys would just be fun.

Look, if I get bladejobs and middle fingers thrown about on the weekly I'm all for it. They could call it ECW and give it another shot and not give up after 3 months like they did in 2006.

I realize most of this is just meant to be "added value" type stuff, and isn't likely to really impact subscriber numbers one way or another (tiered pricing possibility aside), but WWE has such a hard time looking in the mirror with this stuff. People are leaving the Network (or not subscribing) for the same reason TV ratings are way down, and attendance in B and below cities is in the toilet - the product isn't good, and it hasn't been consistently good for quite a long time. A bunch of new programming isn't going to change that, it's just going to make their focus even more diluted.
