Do we have confirmation that the new basics will swivel at the elbows? Has anyone got the newer basic series that has this? Can’t find a definitive answer. Thanks.

Yeah, Bill said the swivel's at the elbow now at SDCC.
It's not horrible(for me), but it takes away some realism because when you move your arms outward or inward, the biceps don't stay in one place.

Yes and in HardyKOFan01's Birthday thread he confirmed the final product did indeed still have the swivels at the elbows.

My main problem is that now you can't swap the biceps and the new arms look ugly. They look worse than before, it has this cheap look to be exact.

I’m not fond of the change myself. So much so that I’ve decided to stop collecting basics out of ones here and there. Was really disappointed to see Basics I was looking forward to have the new articulation.

I'm not sure about the new articulation either. I think I'm just going to focus on the Elite series from here on out.

I feel like I’m being a stroppy child, but I honestly hate the look of them so much I don’t want to buy them. I’ll see how I feel when I see them in person. For some figures, like the Elite Mankind and the upcoming GM Foley, it doesn’t look that bad, but I think that’s because of the baggy sleeves. The bare skin ones look terrible. They look like cheap knock offs.

Not to mention your elbows are a hinged joint. They can't swivel. It's the shoulder that allows you to rotate your arm.

Well, your biceps don't swivel. And I am thankful Mattel doesn't add those ugly butterfly hinges to the shoulders like some ML, Figuarts and Mafex figures have. Hate those things. I don't mind the lowering of the swivel. Like I said when they showed it at SDCC it suck for arm swapping. Especially for those who don't want to crack torsos, but that's not Mattel's concern. I am more upset that we are losing the ankle hinges.

how many people looked at their arm and moved it to see where the movement came from just now?
