Orton was on the E&C podcast and had some flattering remarks for KO. He said he wishes he could get over like KO did and be fat. But then he later takes a shot at his gimmick by saying:
"I guess Kevin Owens has it figured out. He started fat and he'll finish fat," Orton said with a laugh. "He's trying to get himself over as the fat guy that can fight. Bless his heart, that's great. I'm jealous."
The fat guy who can fight line is pretty funny lol.

Owens even admits that he’s fat though.

Well he doesn't have to be in the gym busting his ass constantly to maintain a good body.

It's not really body shaming, considering Orton didn't say it's a bad thing. Quite the opposite, if anything.

When I look at Owens I see an intimidating guy who could destroy you. Why did Orton even feel the need to bring his weight up? It doesn't matter what you look like aslong as you get the job done.

Well, my bathroom break (aka when Orton is on TV) is just jealous, that Owens has charisma and a personality. Things that meathead doesn't have.
And the piece of crap hasn't learned anything, when he and his wife were making fun of a regular person a year or two ago.

Without hearing the audio it's hard to tell how he meant it. He could be joking around or he could be acting passive aggressive.

Because looks matter in wrestling whether you like it or not. And without hearing the podcast you won’t know why he was brought up.

It's not really the opposite because it's not a compliment. It's a half-joke about being jealous he can't be fat and out of shape. It's still a cheap dig. It's like saying, "He's fat and out of shape, BUT he's making it work for him." What part of that was a compliment? I don't think Randy really meant anything by it and I'm sure Owens doesn't care, but lets not pretend this was some kind of compliment.

Of course looks are important in wrestling but that doesn't mean the entire roster has to look like beach boys with perfect bodies. KO looks like one of the baddest men on the roster and has a great wrestling style so IMO that's what's important.

There are people that will disagree with you on both your points, I’m not one of them but a lot of people in the wrestling business have been outspoken about how he looks/should look despite being such a great talent.

With the rise of MMA over the past decade I don't understand why appearance is still a major issue with wrestling fans? If someone is 5'2" and 150 pounds, then yes they won't be seen as someone who can legit fight for the world title. But there have been plenty of guys in MMA who resemble the body shape Owens has and have had a ton of success.
You don't have to be jacked up and weigh 300 pounds to be taken seriously as a main eventer in today's wrestling scene.
So what if Owens is fat? The guy is portrayed as a tough SOB and can back it up. Same as guys like Samoa Joe and Bray Wyatt.

Funny...fans dont see Owens as a fat guy wrestler. They just see him as wrestler.

Typically people don't say "bless him/her" in a negative way, but in an affectionate way. If it was missing the "bless his heart", then it would be more open to a negative interpretation.

Upon listening to that bit of the podcast, basically Orton was complaining about how his body changes whether he’s been on tour overseas or away for 2 months and hates having to maintain his body for committing to his trunks look for 15 years. Edge stated that Bret Hart had it figured out so he could’ve wore a singlet and tights his whole career and then Orton made his comment about Owens which came off more envious than anything lol. He did say there’s a lot of fat shaming going on in the locker room but in a light-hearted way.

The topic poster here didn't provide the proper context and is trying to make Orton look like a dick. He wasn't trying to insult him or "Shame" him But I AM shaming the topic creator for not using the proper context from a podcast. He probably heard it and thought, "OH MAN LOOK AT THIS DRAMA I GOTTA GO POST ON WF AND REDDIT ABOUT THIS OH BOY I WONDER HOW MANY UPVOTES I'LL GET, WAIT TIL I TELL TANNER AND THE BOYS AT SCHOOL TOMORROW!"
