Due to RSC/Mattel's inconsistency on getting pictures out by the time sets go up for pre-order, it can sometimes be months before we see photos for highly anticipated figures.
My question is, what is everyone's stance on this? Do you risk getting a figure you don't like by pre-ordering blindly? Personally, I don't risk it. I prefer to see pictures before I drop $30+ per figure just to be safe.

Yes, if you're a completist in some aspect wheater it is a series or particular figure. Yes, if it is a Flashback or classic wrestler who will likely only have one or two figures during Mattel's entire lifetime. No, if its current talent who will likely have several figures in a year.

If it is someone I know I will be buying and it is someone I can't wait to find at retail I have no trouble pre-ordering blind. So if there's a Sting, Hitman, Piper, Von Erich, old school Jericho or LOD announced I will blindly pre-order.

I'm going to have to see pics before I buy. I never have, and never will pre-order something I can't see.

Don't even normally pre order. Too expensive that way. Shane from kotr is the only one I have and it cost me. They all are at top price and max shipping for me on pre order and nothing has sold out yet.

I never pre-order anything without seeing the product first. Especially with QC issues which have been popping up this past year.

When Jakks was still the top dog, I refused to pre-order blind. The few times I did, I got bit. So when Mattel took over, it took me awhile to trust them. I eventually tried it and so far they haven't let me down.
So I preorder talent I know I need immediately. Like for Elite 54 I ordered Usos without seeing them. Because I'm pretty confident they'll look good and I don't have any elite versions of them. When it comes to repaints, I wait to get pictures first. I waited on Cena till I know if he has a cloth shirt or not.

Never for me. But even with pics, I don't see the need to pay a premium on preorders. I've only been collecting for about a year, but I have never had trouble finding what I want in store or online for srp or lower.

I usually wait for a picture to pop up before I pre-order. I don't wanna buy something if it looks exactly like something I already own.

Used to think that I could trust Mattel enough to put in a blind preorder, but then we got sleeved non-wrestling attire APA in E38, we got t-shirt Sting before wrestling attire in E39, and we got mega steroid armed Rhyno in E50. Basically every time I preordered someone to get excited about, it came out iffy at best.

The only thing I ever pre-order are vinyls from certain labels because I know they'll go out of print. I rarely pay over twenty dollars for items, that includes shipping. If I can walk into a store and get it, I don't bother with online ordering.

If I want a character bad enough and have a general idea of what he'll look like, it's worth the shot. Otherwise I'll wait until I see renders at least.

Remember the DDP that was listed for pre-orders at a higher price, and it turned out to be the exact same figure as before only with a different colored stripe?
I don't know why anyone would pre-order, at increased prices, anything sight unseen.

The only characters I would blindly Pre-Order are Jinder and Drew, just because I'm such a 3MB mark. However I'm not gonna lie, Heel Uso's almost got a blind preorder from me, I'm mainly just waiting to see the accessories.

For me it really depends on the who the figure is. I think we all jump on an Owen Stiener Bro elite.

I've only pre-ordered once (and can't imagine doing so again unless for whatever reason Mattel releases a Dynamite Kid or something) and that was for the recent Bliss because I know she'll be next to impossible to find here. Even then I needed pics first.
