There is a lot riding on Ringside fest. I started collecting back in 1999 (at least MOC, I had some hasbros back when I was kid) (and yes I’m an old bastard). Comic Con was a let down for me, and last year wasn’t much better. The recent reveals have done little to keep me enthusiastic about the current product. Sure, EG Angle looks good, but I would rather DM Angle. The only other figure I was somewhat happy about was Beefcake. I will reserve judgement on the new 2 packs for the moment, and even then, I’m in no rush.
I get stores like exclusives- but as an international collector, that just means the cost goes up as shipping kills me. I have to buy in smaller lots and shipping starts to add to figure costs. At the moment if I was to buy a single figure, at say $20, u can double that (and often more) for shipping before I see it. But if I can get 10 figures at $20, I might pay $90 shipping. The exclusives don’t help me on that front.
The re-issues piss me off no end.
MDT love affair with NXT is also killing it for me. There is a reason NXT tapes shows, its following is limited (not a knock on the product NXT fans, its a statement of fact).
I suffered a Jakks hangover, until e16 dragged me back in. Before that I only got the original DM figures and 20 also legends. But the future line up’s (leaked and confirmed) do little for me... I am hoping Ringside fest reignites my interest, cause the product just seems so..... blah at the moment.
Anyone else hoping for a impressive showing at Ringside fest? For the same reason?

I don't think it's dramatic as you say but...
If we don't see a Goldberg, Jinder, Hardyz, Angle, or Foley that we haven't seen before I'll be saving a lot of money in the coming year
It's funny though, E16 is what dragged me back in as well

We'll get what we get. It may good. It may be disappointing. Here's a list of some things I'd like to see.

3. Flashback Hardy Boyz
4. Elite Bobby Roode
5. Another Elite AJ Styles
6. New HBK FLashback (a DM would be awesome)
7. 2000 HHH Flashback
8. Elite Gold Kingslayer Seth Rollins
9. On screen prototype of Summerslam 2017 Finn Balor
10. Jinder Mahal
If I see all the things I've mentioned it will be a good Ringside Fest.

Mattel doesn't care about flashback collectors anymore. It's one thing to cut way back on them, but another to keep us hanging here with no info about where we go from here. It's a big turn-off.

NXT being taped has nothing to do with a limited following. Its a developmental brand, and all tv wrestling was taped until 1993 wasnt it?
He makes them because theres a demand

I am hoping for a good showing but if they don't reveal much then its not gonna have any impact on whether or not I will continue to collect. As long as Mattel continues to make figures that I want, then I will continue to buy them. If they decide to make fewer figures from the eras that I collect, then that just means I will be buying fewer figures.

There's Retros, Brutus Barber Elite and WM Elite, Warlord, Hof 2 packs. I think flashbacks are quite well covered, we can't get it all at once then there is no anticipation on what is to come next.

Sometimes you guys are a bunch of babies about this stuff. They're toys, and it's not like shifting focus is a new thing. Golden Era legends in bad attires killed the legends line. Upper card Attitude/New Gen legends made flashbacks work while some lower card guys sat. Then Hogan and Flair came back and Golden Era worked again for about 8 months. Now the focus is getting current stars out faster, which is why NXT is being made, because the top stars there will be on TV soon. I'd like to hear something too but I'm not gonna cry over it when we're still getting 2003 Undertaker and 1998 Steve Austin

I want a surprise, but I won't be surprised if there's no surprise. I mean, they made Lonely Virgil for f***money's sake, they've got to have something nice in the wings that isn't a store exclusive.

I'm not expecting much and that's the most disappointing part. HOF seems to be done since they haven't given any updates, flashbacks have been cut like crazy and not much in the future, and there aren't much flashbacks coming in general

I hope we get him in green yellow orange or blue attires basics and elites I’m super pumped for them, and body else with me? I especially hope it’s a complete new mold for everything however I would accept/expect them to use Scott Hall and or psycho sid molds. Your thoughts

Why would you want a Defining Moments over an Entrance Greats Kurt Angle? EG Kurt is in his debut attire, elite form and comes with a base/stand that’ll play his entrance music. What do you think DM would’ve been if not EG just without the base?

Wouldn't surprise me if EG was the replacement to DM but who knows.
And while I collect modern guys and FBs, the lack of FBs in the elite line is curious. Am hoping it means a new FB only line but I doubt that.
Hope we get some info on the figures from the WWE.com polls from a few months back.
Hope a member on here goes and does a good Q&A with Bill to get some answers.
And yes I am hoping to see a Jinder elite w/ WWE title and turban.

Mattel isnt catering to my specific wants and its not fair! If they dont change now im taking my stuff and going home.
Hear it at least 2 to 3 times week.
Its lost all meaning at this point. Go or dont. Its whatever.

I went from buying multiple per elite set to maybe one every other.
I'm still a collector and still enjoy good figures but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel if Flashbacks continue to be dwindled as time passes.
That Elite 55 Undertaker is a prime example of why I've cut back 90%+ on my buying of Mattel WWE.

I'd say an issue with lack of Flashbacks is the amount of legends who are part of the lawsuit vs WWE. ( concussion / CTE ). It's affected many guys from not being able to be released now.
However we need a Macho Man / King , Diesel to name a few for the retro Hasbro line.

I'm tired of the myth that the concussion lawsuit is why we're getting less Flashbacks. How many people in that lawsuit would actually get made? I don't see many. These are the figures we're missing out on: LOD 2000, re-release or repaint of Demolition, repaint of Rockers, possibly Adam Bomb, probably Barbarian, maybe One Man Gang , and a Bundy re-release.
