Two questions mainly. Do you collect the Retro figures only because of your connection from your childhood to the Hasbro line? Or are you collecting these just as a sub line of Mattel WWE figures?

I am 32 and it is 100% because of the Hasbros. I like the modern guys in Hasbro style and will probably get the guys I do enjoy from the current product but am hoping we get some of the guys we need like Diesel down the line.
<-- and I just realized I joined the forums 14 years ago yesterday and feel old lol

Just found series 2 with pristine cards/bubbles. Finally upgraded my series 2 moc. It was hard to find them in great shape.

I'd just like to throw out there, I live in North Jersey, very close to NYC, and I still have yet to see Series 2 of the retros ANYWHERE in NJ still to this day. Not even one single wrestler of Series 2 Retro. Nada. And I'm someone who hits up alot of different stores all throughout the state pretty often. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me.

You're not alone there-I'm in the PA area. Here we now sit in November and still nothing at all at whatsoever at mine.

But all the Walmart’s here filled their shelves with year old elites from their Survivor Series shipper.

I collect them solely due to being a huge Hasbro collector growing up. It brings back great memories.
As many others have said, I was hoping/ expecting many more legends by this point so that is a real disappointment for me, personally. I'll keep picking these up but really do hope we get more guys from around the Hasbro era.

Being only 21 years old, I wasn’t even alive when the line ended let alone old enough to collect them. But was always a fan, so having the opportunity to collect new versions and hunting them down is a treat for sure. As well as picking up the original’s here and there. Let’s just hope they don’t start making LJN’s 😅😅

defo due to Hasbro as that was really the online I collected. I would be interested to know how many people like the retros and have now started collecting the Hasbros because of it. Probably what has caused prices of Hasbros to increase.

Probably what has caused prices of Hasbros to increase. that's a great question. I feel like the value on online auction sites has gone up on the original hasbros and maybe it is due to Mattel releasing these retros. I still have holes to fill in my original collection

Sure seemed like the release of the retros spiked Hasbro prices big time. I sold off my Hasbros months before the retros were announced and then wound up re-buying everything for considerably more that I sold for. Hasbro lovers are seeing these retros and it's like a dream scenario come true, so they're going back and buying the originals. Gotta be completionist.

Collecting because of the Hasbro connection! Retros were first figures I've bought since 96/97. Felt like a little kid again when I saw these in Walmart for the first time
