Just a quick question thats been on my mind. "Am I in the majority?" kinda question. Ive pretty much been a figure collector since 1990/91. The retro line was a bit of a dream come true. The connection to the Hasbro line has me a guaranteed buyer of any and all figures and playsets associated to this line. If i didn't collect Hasbros as my first figure collection i dont think I would be all in. Im pretty much a classic completest. If its basic or elite and classic/flashback im buying. But im getting off topic. I guess my question is do you collect the retros only because of the connection to the old Hasbro figures? Or did you get started on the retro line just as a sub line? PS. Rutland VT has the worst WWE Mattel selection at a Walmart that ive ever seen. Moved here recently and its terrible. No sign of elites, Retros... Just a few random basics and battle packs.

I’ve been planning on collecting them, but they never appeared in stores where I live.
Been meaning to order them but I’m not willing to pull the lever on them at the $19.99 price some of them are going for on RSC. I have the first series, but I’m already to drop out as I don’t care for a lot of them in Series 3.
I’m only collecting by the way, because I’m a fan/collector of the original Hasbros.

I'm on the fence about buying these as I want to pretty much stick with basic and elite figures and don't want to get started on any more collections of other kinds of figures but I am tempted to start buying these. I really like the 2nd wave quite a bit.

I had BCAs so I have zero connection to Hasbro style figures. I like Funko minis and some POPs, but mostly just stick to elites and some basics.

My interest in the Retro line has mostly to do with the fact that I grew up with Hasbros and associate them with my earliest years of collecting/playing with wrestling figures. The grip of nostalgia wouldn't be anywhere near as strong had I never been exposed to them at a young age. I have my dad's friend and his son to thank for inviting us over to watch PPVs and for passing down some of the harder to find Hasbros like Andre and Dusty when Brian (the son) outgrew them in the mid-'90s. I would imagine there are many collectors my age (28/29) who grew up instead with Jakks from 1996-2009 and don't view Hasbros the same as I do, which is perfectly acceptable.
And to answer your question, yes, I do think we're in the majority of Retro figure collectors. Otherwise, Mattel's own design team wouldn't go to the lengths of designing copycat cards and reintroducing old action moves and playsets if the adult collector were an afterthought. It's a labor of love from one collector to another, or so I believe.

I mainly collect them because of the Hasbro connection... I love the look of them (and the cards/packaging). I have to say though: although I thought the first 2 series were great (mainly classic/Legends guys, with a few big-name current guys too), I am a bit disappointed with Series 3 (current Goldberg - WHY!?) and other forthcoming figures we've seen... they seem to have switched it so it's now all current roster figures, with the odd (ie. hardly any ) Legends figures. I would have thought with a retro line like this, it would include mainly retro/older wrestlers...

Retros were the first toys I’ve bought in 20 years. I buy them because I’m a huge Hasbro fan and they are the only toys I still own from my childhood.

Perfectly put, I thought S2 was good even though it really lacked the era I really want (Hasbro era/New Gen/Mid 90's WCW). But all the forthcoming series are a huge dissapointment for me. I haven't watched the product since around WM20, so I have no intrest in anyone modern. These are the first figures I've bought since the late 90's besides Hasbros on ebay.

Wish they appeared more often in Australia, BIGW(like Walmart) was the only store here to get them but the one in my town got everyone in series 1 except Kevin Owens & Roman Reigns and I had to buy Sting from ebay

My first wrestling figures I ever bought were the Hasbro line. At the time nothing made me happier then going to Toys R Us, Kay Bee, Kiddie City and Clover stores and finding some new WWF Hasbro figures. No Internet back then, so I had no clue what was released next and sure as hell nothing like Ringside Fest or Q n A with design teams or them taking feedback like now. The 'Undertake Em All' ad was my internet nerdgasm back then lol....I was just happy to get new stars for my roster. I had my figure fed with my own ppvs and storylines that I still have in notebooks in my garage lol. It's beyond awesome that I can finally have new Hasbro figures to place beside my classic collection that brought me such great fun and memories and have the figures I only dreamt of during the drought until Jakks came along.

Retro Series is the only series I'm OCD on. It's because I live the Hasbro line and want them to mic into that and continue.
Basics/Elites, eh, I have a bunch but really they're sub line now. I can honestly sell them all off and but give a crap. And yes, 99% of my normal Mattel figs are Flashback.

Hasbro connection. But I'm stuck and dissapointed with the lack of figures from that era.
I understand they are making mainly new wrestlers because of the kids, but that ruined the nostalgia for me, because I remember them from when I was a kid. I'm not a big fan of wwe anymore, I can't stand the product, so I never know who the wrestlers are that will be coming out.
How about Ringside releases just legends and let Walmarts and stores have the new wrestlers. Ringside would sell out overnight.

Also for me, no other line ever interested me much. I don't know if it's just because Hasbros were the first figures I played with or if it really is because they were the best figures ever made.
I was devastated when they stopped making them and the bendem's came out and then Jakks. I kept buying whatever came out into the attitude era, but it was never the same. I don't hold any nostalgia for Jakks, Bendems or anything that came after Hasbro.

My cousin and I had a ton of Hasbro's when we were younger so that obviously was a huge reason why when I saw these I had to have them and collect them all as they come out. I don't care one bit for Cena or Reigns or Warrior but the figures themselves are so cool that I want them.

I have a ton of Hasbros so when the line was announced it was that connection that excited me.

I think the only reason is because they remind me so much of my childhood with the Hasbros. I think if it wasn't for that they would be like Tough Talkers to me.
