This has been asked in every year q&a They wouldn't listen, they have more fetish on rainbow cena and reigns. John Cena and Roman Reigns figures are successful at retail. Ronnie Garvin's figure on a shelf would just be moved out of the way so a kid could find someone they actually care about.

I am all in for the past champions. Would love a Gorgeous George but I may be in the very very small minority there. I'm a strong advocate for Gorgeous George. I even asked Bill about him on a Q&A. He said "unlikely".

Bruiser Brody is my biggest want. Not a champion but I’m with you. Would be great if Mattel could make it happen

I would love to see a Mattel Harley Race and Superstar Graham. I have been holding out hope that we would see them in the Hall of Fame line but I finally gave in and bought their Classic Superstars figures recently. Another legend I would love to have is Mil Mascaras. I thought an Elite that came with different masks would have been cool. I realize he wasn't a WWF or WCW champion (only an ICW world champion in like 1975, I believe), but he would make a great addition to the line.

Bob Backlund is one of my top 10 wants at the moment he was the first wrestling autograph I got so he holds a special place in my heart, I'd love for him to share a shelf of my favorite guys (Sting, Piper, and Kane all share a shelf lol)

One thing that hurts Mattel is their lack of going out and signing guys themselves. The old saying is you gotta spend money to make money. I remember the days of JAKKS, while the product was inferior, you'd go to Jeremy.com and a guy like Haku would get steam from collectors...Jakks/Jeremy would go out and sign Haku to a deal and get his figures out. That's why JAKKS gave us so many great names. Mattel has kinda taken the "lazy" way out (and I dont mean that negatively) and just go with whomever is signed under legends deals. I wonder how many of these older guys are even under an actual Legends deal? Harley Race, Pedro Morales, Billy Graham...none of theme have any sort of merch out in the past 7 years. As far as we know they were signed under a temp deal for their HOF inductions and they've since expired. On top of that with Mattel's ideology of not doing their own signings, we're never going to get names like Bruiser Brody, Great Muta, Antonio Inoki, Tatsumi Fujinami or other older legends. They used to do that, didn't they?

Graham definitely is/was under a Legends deal. He signed one two years ago this January. I was certain Mattel would jump on it and we'd have a proto by that SDCC... but they've dragged their feet and who knows what his contract status is for the future.

I wouldn't buy them but I think they deserve their place in a line somewhere. The problem is, that to the casual buyer, these aren't guys that the demographic would recognize. These things would clog shelves like a blood clot. I wouldn't mind if they brought back Matty Collector and did limited runs on some guys.

I agree that a lot of the older guys would not sell well today (Harley Race, Billy Graham, Bob Backlund, Pedro Morales, Buddy Rogers, and Greg Valentine, among others.) But I do think there is a big enough group who would purchase these that putting them out on a limited run (at Matty Collector or TRUs) wouldn't be a bad thing, and that way they wouldn't clog shelves. And, I don't think the people who are asking for the older guys to get made would mind if they were limited releases.

I’m not buying the whole “there isn’t a market for them” schtick. Honestly it wouldn’t matter because of the fact that the Hall of Fame line and TNF lines exist. If they can make losers like Earthquake, tyler breeze, big boss man, and other guys who never held main event gold, they can certainly carve out spots for champs like Graham, Backlund, and Race.

They used to do that, didn't they? You can bitch about mattel not doing that all you want, but it’s been very obvious that they have completely different contract with wwe, then jakks did. That’s why we don’t get certain belts and why everyone on the concussion lawsuit won’t get made. WWE must have more oversight and control over the product with mattel. Could be for any reason.

I would think they could put them on a limited edition range so they don't end up as shelf warmers and they still keep the diehard collectors happy. I can't see them flying off the shelves but there is clearly a demand there.

They are making Mean Gene Okerlund, Shark, etc ... I think they could make these former Champions that are in the WWE Hall of Fame.
