So i understand that people sometimes display their collection by the date of the attire choice for the figure. My question is how do people narrow down the exact date for figure attires? Especially if you have an extensive collection
Just google each figure? Im working on figures from like 04-08 and want to make sure everything is accurate

I would just google the wrestler’s name and then their color attire and go from there. Unless I already know what the date of the attire is from. 04 and beyond would be pretty easy, considering all the events are on the network.

All wwe from 04-08 is awful so start by not watching that. Secondly, google would be easiest I would think.

I tried to do this and quickly found it too difficult, especially because attires aren't always 100% accurate for a specific attire date, pictures aren't readily available for a lot of older or lesser known guys, some guys--like Kamala or Andre or Bruno--wore attire for years at a time so it's hard to pinpoint an exact date, etc., etc...
Instead I just ordered my figures alphabetically by era: Golden Era, New Generation, Attitude Era, etc. This helps differentiate versions of characters--Hart Foundation Bret Hart vs. I Hate America Bret Hart but alleviates some of the pressure of trying to pinpoint an exact date.
I can sleep better this way.

Post which figures you're trying to date and I'm sure the board can be of help.

A mixture of mostly memory, sometimes the back of the box, and a little bit of Google is the best recipe.

A lot of the flashbacks are obviously from a specific event (since there weren’t as many PPVs then)
Start my figuring out what era. Hulkamania/golden era, new generation, Attitude etc
And then go from there.

I have my figures dated out as well, so I would love to help you out. If you provide me with a list of the figures, I can find out when the attires they're featured in were first worn.

I've been slowly starting to add this to my spreadsheet of figure checklist. Some of it just isnt quite an actual figure. Some have stumped me as well. I have had some fun googling through the attires/matches though. But its a long ways to go. If anyone elsr has an ongoing spread, id be interested in swapping emails and checking out if theres stuff I am missing.

I’d love to see photos of chronological collections and advice as well. I’m just getting started and, while my memory of late 80s into the 2000s is OK, could use help prior say, Mania 3.

Google the wrestler and PPV matches. Go month by month and you can find pics. I did this for the retro Austin as I was curious what era I could fit it in. Found Austin wearing the single knee brace at Mania 13 Vs. Bret. PPVs before that he didn't have any brace.
But, guess that may be an easy one.
