Long story:
Back in the 80's my dad had lost his job because there was a dip in the early Reagan years for manual labor jobs. My dad was one of those factory workers that worked six days a week, fifteen hour shifts. So for a few years there our holidays were usually oranges and apples. I was old enough to understand what we were going through at the time. A few years later when things had finally picked up, my father told me that we were no longer on the "go slow" as he called it, which was his way of telling me that we might get something. My father knew I liked wrestling but he wanted to make it a surprise, but at the same time he had no idea who my "favorites" were. So my mom asks me and tells me not to tell my dad that she asked. And I told her Davey Boy Smith and Dynamite Kid. She goes and I assume tells my dad. So anyways somehow Davey Boy Smith and Dynamite Kid turned into Roddy Piper and Junkyard Dog. My parents knew nothing about wrestling but part of me just assumes that my dad went out and tried to get two wrestlers of any kind. My dad for years thought the Piper was Dynamite Kid and Junkyard Dog was Davey Boy Smith, I never had the heart to tell him the truth. I was still excited about getting them though. I still have them to kind of remind me that things can go bad any moment and be glad for what you can get.

The one that pops to mind instantly was Christmas 89 I believe. I got almost the whole 1st set of Hasbros and the ring. I had just turned 6 so you could imagine how awesome it was. There are other great memories like getting LJN or BCA figs, but the Hasbro one was the best. Probably a little early for Hasbros as I recall 1990 being the first year they were available I may be wrong but I’m sure that’s the year I got some Yeah I think you’re right, the years start to mix after awhile 😂 Artie Kendall great post, thanks for sharing that with us.

I never got a crazy amount of figures for Christmas but I have gotten a few rings. I believe I got the ring with the 2 things to launch them into the ring, also the big BCA ring. I also one Christmas found the titan tron live ring that would make sounds and and count. Is was like an arena. Anyway I went into the garage for something and there it was in a big black garbage bag, and that’s how I found ou Santa wasn’t real.

It’s weird I don’t recall too many xmas specific wrestling toy memories. Maybe I’m just getting old now haha. Closest is getting Wwf attitude for the ps1 as a teen and my mum telling my bro and I we could have one match before she wrapped it. Thinking we were clever we picked a royal rumble and what do you know we couldn’t for the life of us figure out how to eliminate anyone and after 15 mins or so got bored and gave it back to wrap.

I remember one year getting the Jakks titan tron. I forgot the name of it but it was the one you put foot of the TTL figures on and it plays their entrance music. Then a few years later I got the original Jakks Elimination Chamber. Then my absolute favorite Christmas receiving was the first Jakks RSC. 12 years later, getting that ring was the most excited I had ever been on a Christmas morning lol.

2007, my first Christmas as a wrestling fan, from memory until i find the picture i remember getting this Jakks ring that was red and had a scaffold attached to it that also came with a Batista i think, a Kendrick in red attire, a Jeff Hardy with pink/grey armbands (Cyber Sunday series i think), a Punk and Nitro 2 pack with a kids sized ECW Title and a No Way Out series Kane. It's still my favourite Christmas from when i was young. (I can still remember how happy i was to finally have a Kane figure)

I've got a few great memories of getting figures at Christmas. I remember back in 2001 I got the WCW Nitro Arena and the WWF Backstage Mayhem playsets along with some TTL figures. I also got some loose Hasbros in my stocking that year. I vividly remember my Grandad and I playing with my figures after dinner. I was using an Andre Hasbro and he was using a Toybiz Kevin Nash haha.
In 2004, the Classic Superstars line had just came out and my parents allowed me to open one present on Christmas Eve, obviously I went for the one with the figure shaped packaging haha. I opened it up and it was the Series 1 Warrior and I freaked out because I wanted a Warrior figure for so long and I didn't know that he was in the wave. Then I went and got a piece of paper and wrote a new Christmas List that had every other figure from the wave on it but my Mom told me it was too late and Santa had already left the North Pole (In reality, my Mom was NOT going out figure hunting on Christmas Eve hahah). I ended up getting Andre and Bret Hart from the wave from my Grandparents on Christmas Day.
The next year, I got some RA figures and a new Spring Ring (it came with Red White and Blue ropes which I was really happy about because my collection at that point was almost all Golden Era CS figures). When we were getting breakfast, my Dad left the table for a few minutes then came back and told us the story of when he was a kid, he found a toy stuck in the chimney that had fallen out of Santa's sack so after getting something to eat, I went and looked up the chimney and found the Series 4 Yokozuna. In reality, my parents had forgot to wrap it and put it under the tree so my dad shoved it up the chimney. Thankfully I wasn't a MOC collector hahaha.
After that year, I didn't get many wrestling figures as presents for a few years because I got heavily into Star Wars - I got a few of the Star Wars Transformers figures the next year like Luke that turned into an X-Wing and Han/Chewbacca that turned into the Falcon. I also got some Saga Collection figures (Endor Luke, Boba Fett, Vader, ROTJ Han) and a Tie Fighter. That was a great Christmas too.
Happy Holidays everybody!!!

X-Mas was always the time I got the big stuff. Batmobile, Ghostbusters Fire House, Ecto 1, big Lego sets, Millenium Falcon, Megazord, WWF Attitude ring, etc.
I remember the first X-Mas after Power Rangers came out, my uncle got me all 6 rangers from England to the U.S. This was when Power Rangers was so hot that as soon as toys were put on the shelves, they'd be gone. Nobody had them. None of my friends had them. I assume the only reason he got them was because Brits didn't care.

Wow that Monster Ring picture brings back memories. Another memory I have of Christmas, there was this huge holiday bag and it contained all BCA figures. I guess it was Series 2. Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels in red, Warrior, Vader, Glow in the Dark Taker.
I was excited to get Taker, because the only 2 figures I had from Series 1 were Taker and Goldust. I might have had Hart and Michaels too but I know for a fact I had the red HBK. But, Taker broke and I never got a replacement. So finally getting one that Christmas was great. Now that I’m thinking as I’m writing this, I think I had that turquoise blue HBK but he broke too
I don’t think I got the Monster Ring for Christmas, maybe shortly after. I believe I might have got it from TRU along with Sycho Sid and Mankind.

I didn't know my biological Dad until I was about 23, and from being 10 to 21 I was raised by a stepdad (along with my Mum).
The first Christmas he and my Mum were together was 1999, and he took me to Toys R Us so he could get me something for Christmas. I was looking at the wrestling section, and the first thing I was drawn to was the Titan Tron with Vince McMahon figure, and my eyes just lit up. I hadn't known him all that long (just under a year I guess) so I didn't think it was fair asking him for a £50 toy, so I moved on to the figures.
The next thing I hear is my stepdad asking "Did you not want that?" pointing at the Titan Tron. I just said that I thought it was too much money, he said "No it's not, pick it up". So I picked it up, and I just always remember being so overwhelmed by how generous it was of him.
Unfortunately he passed away in 2010 in his late 40's because of an undetected heart issue, but that's a really fond memory that I always think of around Christmas time and whenever I go to that Toys R Us store. It's always a nice reminder of how even though we weren't related he always treated me as his son from word go, which is comforting when I look back

Oh man too many to count. I remember coming downstairs in the morning and unwrapping a Hasbro ring and almost every Hasbro figure avalible at the time. As I got a but older I remember getting all the first bca jakks 2 packs, the champions 4 pack (rocky, taker, Owen and bulldog) and the monster ring. One year my grandmother showed up with 3 trash bags filled with figures. Man those were good times.

Got the KOTR Hasbro ring one year. Hasbro still has the best looking ring I've ever seen. Perfect scale. Still have it, too.
One year we went to an extended family Christmas party where parents bring a gift for their own children to open. My folks used a just-too-small piece to wrap my gift and, upon pre-opening inspection, I could see through the gap that it was a Hasbro Series 1 Ultimate Warrior. The wait to open it became just that much longer.
